I have had a Chromebook for about four months and I installed Thunderbird using Linux and it worked really well then I started having issues. I started composing an email the decided to cancel it by clicking on the cross on the top right of the email normally a box would open giving three options but all I get is a small white banner with a cross ! I then had to press enter to close the email I didn't want. I reinstalled Thunderbird and installed my old PostOffice/TalkTalk email with no issues but I can't install my Hotmail email and when I keep being told my details are wrong but they are not. Is this because the 0Auth2 verification ! I am a technophobe so don't have a clue what to do. Is the 0Auth2 provided by Microsoft ( My Hotmail ) or is this something to do with Thunderbird I have tried to find answers but have just been going around in circles. Can you point me in the right direction or should I just give up on Thunderbird !

I have imported all my emails from a gmail account into Thunderbird to use it as a static archive of emails. I now want to stop Thunderbird from syncing with the gmail account. I have tried turning off the syncing the Account Settings in Thunderbird, but Thunderbird continues to get new emails that are sent to the gmail account. How do I stop the syncing?

Hi ! so i need some help ... i cant find a way to set up a Hotmail account on Thunderbird a have an error message "authenticated but not connected..." i tried ipv6 disabled .. nothing .. deleted password and account and tried again same thing ... it doesn't show the pop window that says ( would you like to let Thunderbird access your email " it just goes to create the inbox file and get the error message authenticated but not connected ... sorry for the incorrect grammar but i am over my head the last 3 hours .. i need help ...

I pressed download but I don't know what to do next. I signed up for the newsletter and gave a donation. I don't know where to find the app or how to complete the installation. Thank you.

Thunderbird isn't sending I have just noticed that for no apparent reason mail is no longer being sent. There are no error messages and a copy is still being sent to the "sent" folder. My wife also has a profile which does not suffer from the same problem. I've made sure that the system is up to date.

I have finally managed to escape MS 365 and wanted to use Apple Mail. Having problems with that so I set up Thunderbird (TB).

Now all of a sudden all I get is a blank white screen with the spinning Apple beach ball. Forever.

I have done all the usual things, computer on and off again, reinstall the TB app etc.

The TB dock icon shows there is mail but I cannot get to it.

I did search Google and this forum but only found a closed thread with no solution.

Any help would be appreciated :-)

I have ics file with 2 events and i want to import into existing calendar (the day of these events is empty) but it says modification_error. Calendar isn't read-only and file isn't broken (it import into new calendar fine)

I am using Thunderbird for my Google Workspace Business Standard (GWBS) account because certain things, like navigation, searching, mail merge, and others are much nicer with TB than with the Gmail browser interface. I created the account in TB in the usual way, with no special tweaking of the settings. I routinely need to send messages to the 167 members of our program. The problem is that when I try to do so using TB, I get the error in the first attached image. The actual recipient limit for my GWBS account is 2000 per message, and there is no problem sending messages to 167 recipients using the Gmail web interface.

I chatted with GW support about this and was told by the agent that "you have added 167 recipients in a single email, by using a third party IMAP server you can only 100 recipient's. However, the server settings for this account in TB are the ones in the third image, which doesn't seem to me to be a third party IMAP server. Has anyone else come up with a solution for this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my ISP has just changed its email server to an IMAP protocol which my OS does not support, they recommended that I install Monzila Thunderbird which did allow me to make contact with the new email server and allow download access to my emails. What I now need to do is import my past emails, contact and folder structure that I had in my previous email client which was Windows Live Mail 2012 in to Thunderbird 115.16.2 (which is the only version that I have found that works with my Windows 7 OS 64 bit). Please can you tell me how I can achieve the import as eveything I have tried on the Import menu pick in Thunderbird does not appear to work. Many thank for your support, Richard.

Hello,ever since I uninstalled Old Firefox and installed Firefox 115.17.0esr all my links in Thunderbird email won't open Firefox,it is the default browser? Please help anyone? Thank You in Advance.

your update to esr yesterday left me "unable to authenticate to outgoing server ( SMTP). Please check the password and verify authentication method. I can't send emails. How do I fix this?

Takes a long time to load messages. Says checking mail server capabilities . Sometimes won't load messages. I have never had this problem before. Seems like started after new updates.

I'd imagine it's a simple enough answer to my request but I'm a simple enough user :)

We switched our emails over to hostinger.com - when I downloaded the emails I got all my emails into the inbox, but only a fraction of the sent emails. At the time of importing I could see Thunderbird was downloading all the sent emails, so not sure where they are now?

If I got to Hostinger.com I can see all the sent email there including any I had sent from Thunderbird today.

Any help for this simlpeton welcome

Please help me to get my email to download in Thunderbird. Since May 7, have got the message "Error with account xxxxxxxxx@sbcglobal.net Sending of password for user xxxxxxx@sbcglobal.net did not suceed.  Mail server inbound.att.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later."

Where xxxxxx is either of my accounts.

I have been using Thunderbird for decades, and prefer not to try and find another program, and lose all my existing email history.

Thunderbird dont update mai mailbox ! I am on AOL, and I changed my personal AOL password, is it a connection with this problem with thunderbird ? If it is the case how I can fix it Thanks a lot Emilio
