I deleted a profile not knowing it would delete everything I had. How can I undo it? I didn't want Firefox Profiles, it was forced. I deleted it, and everything just got deleted. Can someone please help revert this? Thanks.

There appears to be more details in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2014390 located at the bottom. When I try to view the details it asks me to log in. I do not see any reason I should have to log in to view the issue as I only intend to view the bug. Why does it require a login ?

Since updating Firefox from a previous version, the browser no longer displays any Unicode emoji characters. Where an emoji would normally be rendered (👁️), the browser instead displays empty space. Websites such as twitter and discord, which use their own artwork for emoji, are unaffected. This has negatively affected my browsing experience.

For illustrative purposes, I will add a series of emoji and include a screenshot of how they are displayed: (😀🙁😡💀). Other characters still display correctly: (β❖♞䷲⎈𐘢𓀺இ). My computer otherwise displays emoji correctly. The issue persists after disabling extensions, and has persisted between computer restarts.

I'm running Linux (NixOS) and Firefox version 148. I've tested on Chrome based browsers and they work fine. Tested on Firefox forks and they also don't display correctly. This is new since less than a week ago.

I started using Claude in the side panel instead of a dedicated tab, but there is something noise about it: every time I click to open the side panel the chat starts from scratch. Getting a clean slate is nice, but it takes too much time loading. So I would like to not unload the content of the panel when I close it, just hide it, so when I click to open is already loaded. There is a way to do that?

So I had logged into this Firefox account, but while I was, I forgot my password. I needed to enter the correct code from the email, but I lost the recovery key; I needed to enter in the 2FA code from my phone, then I could now change the password. When I logged in, boom, bookmarks gone. Passwords gone, and browsing history gone. I was waiting for it all to sync, but it had probably synced the deletion of everything possibly. I have no idea what happened, but I do not believe my account was compromised, because I did not get any emails about any new logins. If it is encrypted, how can I decrypt it so I can get my stuff back? Thanks.

At some point in the last couple of weeks, I've started running into very frequent crashes running Firefox in the Linux container on my Chromebook. It previously worked well, but is now unusable. I'm now running Firefox version 147.0.3 on Chrome version 144.0.7559.167. This is after I did a clean reinstall of Firefox using flatpak, which didn't help. It seems like it often happens when my mouse hovers over a browser tab or icon (eg account, extensions, hamburger). Other quirky display behaviour, which mayor may not related, is that videos are often not working (eg Youtube, BBC), and various browser windows (eg when selecting Manage Bookmarks, or restarting in safe mode), open a small size-reduced window. The start.fedoraproject.org keeps showing up on my url. I don't have it pinned anywhere so I'm not sure how I can remove it.

Mint 147.0.4 64 bit I click on a pdf, it opens in qpdfview. It also saves in wherever my default save folder is. I later have to go remove all these junk PDFs from Downloads or wherever because I either didn't want them or saved them elsewhere.

Please stop "helping me". I do not want to be "helped". How can I stop this auto-save """feature"""?

In 2024-25 Microsoft Edge gained the ability to limit the usage of physical RAM that the processes uses. Once that limit is reached tabs are put to sleep or are unloaded. So a user of Microsoft Edge could restrict the memory usage to say 1GB or 2GB or 3GB and so on till the maximum available physical RAM.

Does Firefox have such an ability? Is there some flag or settings in about:config that can be enabled for a similar feature to be used? Does Firefox have ability to put tabs to sleep once SWAP is started to be used? Is there some flag or settings in about:config that can be enabled for a similar feature to be used?

If none of one of the above is not available with Firefox then will Firefox add this feature as part of the browser in the future?

Why isn't there a simple means to remove/prevent searches for the address bar, using config doesn't work.

I've used Firefox for over twenty years, this annoyance will end that and force a move to Brave.

Linux User So. I recently followed a Mozilla guide, previously posted, and something that I did, or changed, I now have a very annoying "profile" name in the title bar. Further to that, I now have an additional menu option called "Profiles", with --"profile --Add Profile

I have never had or seen these items, except when I've moved my profile from an old computer to a new computer, using the console of "firefox -P" command.

It is becoming very annoying as I only have one profile, and I don't want an more.

Question. How to I block the display of 'profile information' ? Thanks
