Why are my outgoing emails rejected by the GoDaddy SMTP server?

I send a daily email to slightly less than 100 people and have been doing it for 15 years. Recently I have been having them rejected saying that they were rejected for spam or virus content. GoDaddy says it's not their problem and lay it back on Thunderbird. Thunderbird then throws the email into the sent file, and suddenly I'm also over my daily quota of 250 even though I've actually sent nothing.

Anyone have a solution?

I think only GoDaddy would be able to decode those scores and help you understand where the problem lies. Oh wait, their customer service has a reputation for incompetence? Hmm... Maybe someone else knows what filter they are using and has described how to address this problem. Unfortunately, when I search, I mostly see frustrated people giving up on GoDaddy.

Can you try a smaller address list next time to see whether that is a factor? Maybe half and half for the next one.

If it's the content... The web is full of articles for bulk mailers suggesting the top ways to get flagged as spam that you need to avoid. I won't try to summarize in part due to the time involved but also because I don't know whether GoDaddy is using those criteria.

I have a thought: try resending some of the previous daily messages to a small test group and see whether they still go through. If so, that would provide some basis for comparison with your more recent messages that do not go through. If those now will not go through, it sounds like GoDaddy may have changed its filter.
