Please do not power off or unplug..installing update 1 of 2
I get this message every time I try to shut down my laptop: "Please do not power off or unplug your machine. Installing update 1 of 2"
Do I have some kind of download issue, or what is wrong?

That is not a Firefox issue, but about applying Windows updates that are still in progress. You will have to be patient until Windows has finished installing updates that have been downloaded. Windows can at times be quite slow to apply updates and takes its times. You normally have to restart the computer to finish the update in case it involves replacing files that are correctly in use.
If you still have questions then best is to try to ask advice at a Windows oriented forum.
