Is it possible to access web pages from the past, and if so, how far back?

I recently paid a utility bill online. Today I found out the payment never went through, although I had been taken to the "Thank You For Submitting Your Payment" page. I am wanting to see if it's possible to go back and pull up that page somehow so I can visually see exactly what went wrong. I'd also like to let the utility company view it, as I have incurred extremely high charges for nonpayment. Not only that, but I had major loss of animal life.. as I had lights on young chicks and incubators going. Thanks. I'd appreciate any help / ideas you have! Lisa

HI LisaDianeRN111, You can try History > Show All History to look for the page. However if you click on the page to open it will request a new one if the web page was session based.

This might look funny but you can also check your cache by putting this in a new url browser window:

about:cache?storage=memory&context=

Addons to view cache:

Devtools to view cache (if the cookie is still there):

We might need some more help here for executing depending on the method that looks doable. What are your thoughts?

Tracking back through your credit card account(s) should show whether your payment actually happened and where it went. I suggest, in future, you write the receipt number on a hard copy bill and/or save a copy of the online receipt.

I tried the first link, but it only brought up what had happened during the last day. I am going to look more into the 2nd two options you listed, and hope that one of those will help, but I am doubting I am going to be able to find what I am looking for. If I could just access that page that said "Thank You For Submitting Your Payment". Because it wasn't a page I actually went to on my on, and was a page I was redirected to, I am thinking that my search is in vain, but I'm still gonna try! I would think that there would be SOME way to get to a page like that, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be easy. If you think of anything else, please pass it along! I'd be very grateful! Lisa

OH, I DID look at my bank statement online immediately and saw where the payment never went through. This is the main reason I want to access this web page. Something is seriously wrong if I were directed to a "Thank You For Submitting Your Payment" when the payment is actually not going through. I am wanting to be able to show this to the electric company and hopefully keep this from happening to anyone else.

Likely the cookie that was used during the session of the purchase has expired at this point, and I am sorry for any mislead anticipation. Any website handling money information, in my assumption, would have this information expire. I do not this that this is any longer helpful, however to see if there is a session id (if you keep everything) there is the storage web dev tool as shown here: http://screencast.com/t/Hyq2FPAE If you have a back up program you may be able to get that cookie from the day of purchase, however this is very farfetched at this point.
