I don't know if I changed something but recently when my messages load I can't get the remote content to load also.....some messages display correctly others don't. Mostly seems like its the images that won't load.....showing only the broken link/pixel. I have the allow remote content box checked and it doesn't seem to matter if the sites are listed in the exceptions either. Doesn't seem to matter if I click "show remote content" or "allow all sites", nothing shows.

I have updated TB to version 45.2.0 .....I had to do this manually because TB wouldn't connect to proxy so I loaded the most recent version. Wondering if I have to go back to an older version to get things going correctly. I guess maybe this could be an OS problem........running Vista. Help please.

What happens if you turn off the use of your VPN? I assume you are using one as that is the most common reason to use a proxy these days.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not using a VPN....just saying when I try to do an update TB replies that it can't connect to it's proxy server. Don't really know what it means or why it happens....just saying that I had to update via the manual process. This whole problem may even be related to problems with my video card.....as I don't have this issue with my other laptop running Win XP and also TB ver 45

Any other ideas would be great.....

Interesting. Thunderbird does not have a proxy. It can be configured to use one. But it has none of it's own

On the toolbar > Options > Advanced > Network and Disk space. Click settings That should be on it's default value of "Use system proxy."

One of the latest cottage industries for anti virus programs is to install themselves as system proxies. Perhaps that is what is happening here?
