Why does firefox insist on opening hot links in the same window?

No matter what I change in the Settings all of the hot links keep opening in the same window.

I used to be able to drag a tab from one window to another. Has this facility been removed? The Move option lets me move the tab to Start or New window, but not an existing window as I would like.

I'm using Plann for social media management. It can't connect to my facebook accounts. The following error is happening:

For a project of mine, I had been researching the T84, but hours later, it turned into a google search tab, I can't press the back arrow to go back either. I don't know if my Firefox is corrupted or not, but if it is, how do I fix it?

So, I was going down a research rabbit hole on my phone (Firefox for Android 133.0.3), and wanted to transfer the tabs to my PC. Apparently, sending 259 tabs is not really an intended use case, as only 99 of those tabs transferred (tab sending wasn't batched either), and now I can't send any tabs from or to my phone. I just get the error "unable to send" on my phone, and tabs sent on any PC don't arrive either. I tried signing in and out on those devices, but nothing works.

On my new page, I have lots of pinned links to the pages I most frequent. I wish I could set the default for these links so when I click once, it opens in a new TAB automatically.

I know I can write click, but it seems like and easy setting to do this for any link!

Noticed a major problem in Fire Fox, that must be corrected! I usually have 2-20 FF sessions open and 5-20 tabs also open in each FF session. FF used to let you see up to about 15 tabs, displaying them and responsively compressing the width of the tabs,to let you see what is open, but now it only displays 3 tabs, requiring you to actually scroll right or left to find the tabs open.

Totally unacceptable! This maybe OK for NEWBIES, but we pros and Developers need to see everything without scrolling to find it.

Otherwise I totally need a different Browser!

I have noticed for a long time the problem of pinned tabs disappearing in the browser. This happens when I first close the window with pinned tabs, and then it doesn't matter whether they are pinned or new. My pinned tabs disappear. Restoring closed tabs doesn't make sense, because they haven't been closed, so there's nothing to restore. The only shortcut that works 50% is Ctrl + Shift + N, which doesn't always work and ends up wasting time and opening new tabs and re-pinning them.

I understand that as from 14th March 2025 I will need to update Firefox. I am currently running 102.0 and have sucessfully prevented Firefox from updating to later versions. I did this to prevent the updates positioning the tabs in the wrong place. Please can you tell me if the CSS script that I use to put them back into their correct position, i.e. below the Bookmarks Toolbar, will still work.

Also, will newer versions allow the user to choose where the tabs are positioned? It was possible to do this in earlier versions and the choice is also available in other browsers.

I have also managed to stop Windows 10 updating for several years too, Microsoft kept altering my laptop in unacceptable ways.

I'm having to use a back up computer. I opened FireFox and I have no tab bar and no way to open tabs. I have this incredibly annoying sidebar that I was at least able to move to the right. But I can't make it horizontal or clear it. I need the sidebar gone and my tab bar back.

If I right click the sidebar, I do not get an option to get rid of it.

I have checked settings repeatedly. I have even attempted to add a button at the upper right to open tabs. It goes to the sidebar with no labels and no way to clear. It's maddening.

I am leaving Brave as my default browser for Firefox.... Brave is good, just would prefer Firefox. I used to love it.

The problem is...I have a theme on Brave and Chrome that I love dearly. Is there a way to bring that theme to Firefox? I tried using Firefox Color, but it looked awful.

PS: I am the tech Village Idiot so please talk to me in that vein ;)

All my tabs disappeared. I did not update Firefox or shut down the computer. All I did, which is what I always do, is empty history and close firefox, then put computer to sleep. This has happened before and is very disappointing.

Starting yesterday, whenever I open Firefox, a second page also opens. It is blank and unresponsive to commands. Doesn't do much of anything. The address in the address bar is for a crypto-currency exchange which I've never done business with nor ever visited to my knowledge. No input either on the main screen nor in the address window seems possible. The only thing functional on the page is the red-X in the upper right hand corner. It works fine. But whenever I close Firefox then re-open it, the second crypto-exchange page is there again. It opens concurrently with the regular Firefox browser page. Which functions normally. I don't know what to make of it, and I don't want it. Does anyone have any ideas???
