Bought new laptop with Windows 7 & IE9. Tried to download Firefox 4.0.1 but got pop up that if I run or save the Firefox.exe file it could harm my computer. That's strange since I've been using Firefox in my previous laptops. I actually prefer this than the IE browser. I did not want to proceed with the download until I am sure it is compatible with my system. Please comment.

the-edmeister is already completely correct (yes, it's compatible), I just wanted to elaborate a little bit on why that happens.

IE9 (and I think other IE versions) will, by default, always warn its users if they download any executable files (*.exe)...so as long as you're downloading from a reputable source and it says it works on Windows 7, then you can assume it's compatible with and won't harm your system.

Glad to see you prefer Firefox! Go forth and enjoy the wide-open web on Firefox. :)

Thanks to the-edmeister & isaacaggrey for your quick response. I thought of the Firefox download because my yahoo mail page got messed up using IE9. A friend told me that IE has multiple issues with HTML5 and yahoo mail already migrated to HTML5; therefore giving IE fits.
