In Outlook you can forward an appointment that is not created by yourself to someone else. In Thunderbird this option seems not available, or is it? Adding attendees to an event that you did not create yourself does not work.

I think only the creator of the event can add invitees, but you can always right-click an event, Convert To/Message... and send to someone else.

I am aware of that, but that makes it a plain message, it is no longer an event/appointment that you can add to your calendar.

As I said, the event originator adds invitees. But if you convert the event to a message, a recipient can, at least with TB, convert the received message to an event on their system. Or, what if you forward the original message that included the invitation?

The original message is often already deleted. Would be nice if in a future release the functionality can be similar to Outlook. Just forward the event without using workarounds.

There are a lot of outlook parity bugs outstanding according to the tracker. Is your idea one of them? https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423488

Then I suggest you file an enhancement bug requesting it.
