How do I get Firefox to show in the list of options for Default Search Engine in Settings?

I use Firefox on my Windows 10 desktop PC at home. It's a single user computer not on a network. In my Settings under General, Firefox is set as my browser. It says "always check if Firefox is your default browser". Below that line of text is a happy face icon and it says "Firefox is currently your default browser." That part is fine. However, when I click on Search under Settings, I see this:

                    Default Search Engine
This is your default search engine in the address bar and search bar. You can switch it at any time.

I click on Default Search Engine and list of choices appears, but NOWHERE in the list of choices is Firefox listed. What should I do to ensure that Firefox manages all my searches?

Hi

Firefox is a web browser, not a search engine. Even with Firefox installed, you still need to use a search engine to be able to search for content on the web.
