Firefox wont connect to google nor let me add exception

www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER

Not a issue with Firefox itself. It is usually caused by a antivirus client trying to keep you safe by inserting its own certificate and instead causes issues with https:// sites like this.

Thank You James,

However the link to the solution talks about things that are not in existence in my version (2016) of Kaspersky - all I could find was a place to disable to checking of the 'secure' bit of the HTTPS websites - then it works - I even installed a specific firefox kaspersky add on but it still wouldn't load unless I disabled the secure checking completely -

Any specific thoughts?

leave it disabled, as this function in kaspersky and other av-products often has flaws that can make you less secure too: https://blog.hboeck.de/archives/869-How-Kaspersky-makes-you-vulnerable-to-the-FREAK-attack-and-other-ways-Antivirus-software-lowers-your-HTTPS-security.html
