If Firefox has saved other data for a site -- such as cookies or site-specific permissions -- you can change its password storage permission another way:

In a new tab, type or paste about:permissions in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it. Firefox will start combing through its databases and adding sites to the list on the left side. You can use the search box to drill down to the site of interest to you. Once you select it, you can use the Store Passwords selector to change to Block for that site. Example screen shot attached.

You can't add an exception manually in the Password Manager. You can only do that via the doorhanger tied to the key icon on the location/address bar that opens when you log in to a website (Remember, Not now, Never).

That key icon only appears once in a while. Haven't seen it once in a few weeks.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

Is there any way I can send you a screen shot ??
