ran Avast boot scan. Several files quarrantined as infected by a (windows) file - win32:hotbar_be [pup].
My laptop has been running slow and sometimes freezing up. I ran an Avast scan and it found an infected file which I moved to chest. It recommended I run a boot scan. During the boot scan i had several Firefox extensions and plugins 'moved to chest'. All were "infected by win32:hotbar_be [pup]". My suspicion was aroused that Windows might be causing problems for Firefox extension /plugins. I have had several attempts by windows to get me fix my problems with plugins that could cause my computer to slow down or crash. Is this legit? If Firefox plugins are causing a problem with windows, how can I fix it? Thanks
