When will I be able to use a WYSIWYG keyboard again?
In v1.2 of FirefoxOS, the WYSIWYG keyboard was replaced with a keyboard that is in ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME, so I downgraded to v1.1 so that I could have a keyboard that I like. Apparently, the ability to install 3rd party keyboards will happen in the future, and I would like to know when this will happen and if a proper WYSISYG keyboard will be one of the options.

Hey ezra,
Happy to see that this is on the Road Map for 1.3 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=929361 though it is currently not available. https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G/Roadmap
Hope all is well, Rachel
Sadly, I'm one of the foolish early adopters who purchased a ZTE Open, and based on the history of releases made available for my device, it will probably be many many months before I can "upgrade" my device to 1.3.
Jezra, Ralph helped me find the bug tracking this issue as well [Bug 875963 - [keyboard] switch case without rebuilding the keyboard ]
From what I've gathered on the mailing list, the change to the ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME keyboard was made by the UX design team and there is no plan to listen to actually users in regards to the keyboard design.
There are quite a few bugs regarding the ALL CAPS keyboard, but according to the UX designers (who have the final say in this matter), they should all be marked as "won't fix".
What I would like to know is this: aside from the lousy keyboard that the UX Designers have said will be the new default for FirefoxOS, will there be a WYSIWYG option as well?
jezra,
You can keep track of this in the Road Map page with the link to the back log features on the page. I will ask the in the mobile meeting as well.
The backlog 'link' opens a google doc spreadsheet with no actual content.
Restoring functionality that users want, but was removed by the designers, should be considered a "feature".
