this used to be a killer on my Optimus One, where it left the device without any internal memory when it used 30 MB, now it uses 115 MB. Fortunately, it is not a problem now, but this seriously needs to be optimised a bit.

We'll surely look into that aspect of using lesser RAM than it already does. Thanks for the heads up!

Hello,

I think you are asking about disk space rather than system memory (RAM) is that right?

Firefox for Android is a full replacement for a desktop browser. It is a complex application so it is likely to use quite a bit of space. The installer is roughly 20MB on its own.

Once installed the application will begin using more space as it stores user information, sync info, cached page data etc etc.

If the amount of space used is causing you problems then it is possible to reduce the max cache size. There is a support thread here where various options for reducing the size of Firefox are discussed.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/947996

But if the size is not causing problems then I wouldn't worry about it. The cached data aims to enable the browser to load web pages faster.

I hope that helps.
