windows 7, here is the blur from the HP SimplePass Identity protection help file that says the program will work with firefox but I can't find the addon.

Firefox support 'If you have the Firefox browser on your computer when your HP SimplePass Identity Protection software is installed, a Firefox extension will also be installed that enables support for use of fingerprints with the Firefox browser.

If you install the Firefox browser after the HP SimplePass Identity Protection software has been installed, you will need to install the HP SimplePass Identity Protection Add-on manually. Click Tools, Add-ons on the Firefox menu bar, select the HP SimplePass Identity Protection Add-on and click Enable.
