open in new tab lists site in new tab but displaysd a blank page version 5

New install of version 5. Home page opens ok (Google Australia) and I can run search ok. When I select a site to explore and use the open in new tab option (right click) the new tab appears and seems to run the load process. The tab displays the chosen site but there is only a balnk page underneath. Reloading the page produces the same result.
