I have 3 separate sets of User IDs w. respective PWs email accounts. After I login to 1st ID, say User-1 & PW-1, --> Enter, the Firefox prompts: "Don't Update" ... "Update" options. Let's say I click --> "Update" option and later log off.

Next I login to 2nd ID, say User-2 & PW-2 --> Enter, again I get same two prompts "Don't Update" ... "Update". Then on it gets interesting .... ....

  • Case 1:- If I click --> "Don't Update," ... later log off. Next when I try login on using either of IDs, User-1 or User-2, Firefox will auto fill in --> PW-1 ... ... (bcoz I had opted --> "Don't Update").
  • Case 2:- Alternatively if I click --> "Update" and later log off. Next when I try login on using either of IDs, User-1 or User-2, Firefox will auto fill --> PW-2 (bcoz now I had opted --> Update" and therefore both IDs got inherited w. PW-2).

The same scenario is enacted if I login to 3rd ID --> User-3. Again depending upon what I click on "Don't Update" / "Update."

Eventually all 3 IDs would inherit just one of the three PWs. This happens whether the Firefox browser is on Mobile or Desktop mode. Lastly on other websites other than att.com login page, I get Save option after entering the PW.

Hi

I am sorry but I am not sure what the problem is:

If you ask Firefox to update credentials after you have changed them, they are updated.

If you do not as Firefox to update credentials, they are not updated.

I am struggling to see the problem here.

Paul, Let me explain you my concern with a family scenario more closer to "home."

There are three or more family members 1. husband Paul, and 2. wife Diane 3. 4.

Paul w. log in user ID .... paul@att.net. and PW ..... paul-husband. Firefox prompt Don't Save / Save, he selects Save. Wife w. log in user ID .... diane@att.net. and PW ..... paul-wife. Firefox prompt Don't Update / Update, she selects: Case 1 .... Update .... Next time when Paul log in using ID: paul@att.net, he finds his auto-fill password is now paul-wife. When Diane log in again using ID: diane@att.net, she finds her auto-fill password is still paul-wife.

Case 2 .... Don't Update .... now when Paul log in using ID paul@att.net, he will see his auto-fill password is as ........ paul-husband. However, when Diane log in using ID diane@att.net, her auto fill password is changed to paul-husband.

Think of the dilema if there is also a son and/or daughter in the same household and all of them use @att.net email domain name.

My solution/recommendation to Firefox would be simply give prompt of Don't Save / Save option for each new User IDs on the same domain name.

Hope it is clear. If not, think of how much time I had to spend to untangle this Permutation - Combination.
