what is org.mozilla.firefox.sharedID on andriod device
what is org.mozilla.firefox.sharedID? Im suspecting that it is part of the FF sync feature. My main concern is, that I notice it makes many connections to various servers, and about 10% of them are unencrypted. Secondly, it shows that it is not installed via a known source (ie: google play store).

This is expected Firefox and Firefox Beta in the Play store use a shared app ID to share some data between the apps.
android:sharedUserId
The name of a Linux user ID that will be shared with other apps. By default, Android assigns each app its own unique user ID. However, if this attribute is set to the same value for two or more apps, they will all share the same ID — provided that their certificate sets are identical. Apps with the same user ID can access each other's data and, if desired, run in the same process.

OK, I am not running FF beta. Why would FF be sharing data with any other apps? And why is it sending unencrypted information?
Firefox and Firefox Beta have the shared ID. If you use either the ID is present.
OK, you've explained what org.mozilla.firefox.sharedID is. But my main concern is, why it is sharing unencrypted data with various unknown private servers & google user content servers, among others?
Also, what is the data being shared?
All information in org.mozilla.firefox and org.mozilla.firefox_beta can be shared with each other. Though the only info that is shared is related to Sync credentials. No other app or normal Android processes can access the shared data.
As I stated before, my device does not have, nor has it ever had FFBeta installed. I can view the connection history of org.mozilla.firefox.sharedID. It connects to many different servers. I can see it is sharing unencrypted data with various unknown private servers & google user content servers. I can also see that the org.mozilla.firefox.sharedID, on my device, is not d/l from the play store, when the FF apk was d/l from GPlay store.

Hi
I believe that this is used to make sure that Firefox updates correctly - for example that a copy of Firefox for Android Beta gets the next Beta upgrade as apposed to switching to Firefox Nightly.
