Reply cursor in wrong position in Thunderbird 38.2.0

With Thunderbird 38.2.0, my reply cursor shows up (periodically) after the header in the message I'm replying to, as opposed to above my signature. So, it's above the text of what I'm replying to, but still below both my signature and their header. I have set the

Tools->Account Settings->Composition and Addressing fields as

Then "start my reply above the quote" and place my signature "below my reply (above the quote)."

At times, it looks to start in the right place, then jump down. If I quit/restart Thunderbird, I can get it to work right for a bit, then it reverts.

Any help appreciated.
