Firefox displays "Stopped" in bottom left corner instead of "Done" and will not load new webpages or even refresh the current one.

Every few hours, in the bottom left corner it says "Stopped" where it usually says "Done" when a webpage has been loaded. When it does this, I can't navigate to another website. I'm able to minimize or close Firefox, but it won't take commands in either the url bar nor respond to the bookmarks I click.
