Hello

This is Avid Ommi. I would like to inform you that someone managed to get into my accounts and I am not sure how. When I get into my history section in Firefox (Office computer) there is a huge history section on 27th of December (from 6:26 PM until almost half past seven pm) which indicates the suspicious activity by a hacker. The hacker managed to get into my Gmail and Yahoo email account and also this hacker manage to get into my cryptocurrency exchange (Lbank) and transfer all my money into his/her own account.

There are few questions in my mind and I am looking forward to receive a guidance from you. Is it possible to receive the IP address of this computer or maybe a MAC address to understand from where I was hacked?

The second important subject is how come the history of my computer in the office indicates all the activities during this crime? I checked the cctv camera and there was no one behind my computer during this time! How-come these activities are saved in my Office PC but they are not synchronized on my mobile or my home pc! I am very confused. Your prompt reply would be highly appreciated. Regards, Avid Ommi Mobile : [removed] Email : [removed]

Hi Avid, I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

If you have URLs in your own Firefox history that you do not recognize, it usually means that either a person operated your Firefox (either at your keyboard or through remote control), or one of your add-ons visited those pages. It's theoretically possible that history entries could be inserted through other means without Firefox visiting those URLs, but it's difficult to think of why someone would do that.

Could you double-check that you do not have any fake "wallet" extensions installed? Some users have reported that after logging in with a fake wallet, their currency was stolen.

Regarding the IP address of an attacker, Firefox probably doesn't record that. Also, if the connection was made through an external feature or program, it would be invisible to Firefox.

Step one: Change all passwords on all websites NOW ! ! !

This includes the sync account if you have one.

Step two: While doing the above; You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed free to use malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Contact support on the account where you lost your money. They might be able to do something. Also, contact your law enforcement.
