Shockwave Flash script errors hang Firefox for several minutes
I've now removed and re-installed the Shockwave Flash plug-in twice and deleted and re-installed Firefox itself twice and still the Flash script keeps hanging Firefox for several minutes, several times a night, either when I go to a Flash-rich page or try to do some with a Flash object (e.g. share a Youtube video from one page on Facebook to another). A friend suggests it might be because my pc is 10 years old and can't keep up with the current Flash. If so, can I get a an older version of Flash as I can't afford a new pc. Thanks.

One routine recommendation is to disable hardware graphics acceleration in the Flash player. See this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
I wonder whether it might help to use the FlashBlock extension. It disables Flash on a page or site until you approve it. That way, you would be in control of when Flash runs. Possibly worth a try?

Regarding using an older version, Flash 10.3 is, I think, still getting security updates. However, I don't know whether it is easier on the system than 11.7. (Also, I don't know which of the downloads is best for you: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashpla.../downloads.html.)
Thanks jscher2000 - I tried those but still got the problem, though it seems to have been ok the past couple of nights. Maybe I just need a new pc!!
