Without having done any active change: For some time TB seems to not have passed on mails from my alternative mail account. I cannot seem to find the previously functioning gmx account in my settings.
For two days now I do not receive any mails at all. Apparently I can send them, though.
I restarted the programme and tried in safe mode, to no avail.

I'm about the 100th person to have this problem, so I have spent the better part of two days looking at all the threads and possible fixes. Like all the others, with no warning, my TBird stopped being able to send messages through Spectrum. It did NOT start immediately after I updated TBird to 115.9.0 (in March) but just three days ago. I have three roadrunner addresses in TBird, and one other one associated with a website I have. All have the same problem. My phone and my iPad send messages just fine.
I tried all the fixes that worked for some. They didn't work for me; I continued to get various, inconsistent Send Message Errors. I have come back to the recommended Spectrum setup for the outgoing SMTP server: mail.twc.com, Security is STARTTLS, Port 587, Authentication is Normal Password, my username is my email address. Of course the problem is not fixed.
What DID work was putting TBird in Troubleshooting mode, using the Spectrum setup above. While that is adequate, I would much rather find out what is wrong. I have Matt's 10/7/23 11:56 AM answer to someone, asking for the Troubleshooting Information. I will be glad to supply that but I need an answer to this message in order to do that. Thanks! Demaris

I am running Ver 115.10.0 build 2024012173147. Rebooting windows 11 makes no difference.... I just tried to enter Troubleshoot mode and thunderbird stopped responding....Top line says Mozilla Thunderbird (Not Responding). My Thunderbird stopped receiving emails. I am on a Mac. I am posting here because I looked through the list here. Others had the same problem but the conversation is now archived. I tried the offered solutions and they didn't work. So having just fixed mine, I'm posting my solution. Go to System Settings. to Passwords. Unlock Passwords by signing in. There you find your email service listed. Click on it and check that that password matches the password on your account on your email services website. If it doesn't, fix it. Then open Thunderbird on the menu bar at the top, go to Settings ( not Account Settings.) Go to Passwords, to Saved Passwords, click on that and it will show you a list of your saved logins. Below the list, you can click on Show Passwords to see what's there. I had a bad password in there. (I had more than one password that had been saved for Thunderbird.) I deleted all Thunderbird passwords. Then I closed and reopened Thunderbird, clicked Get Messages, filled in the correct password when asked. Bingo. My email downloaded into Thunderbird.

The "sent" folders for these two accounts are grayed out. I have verified that the account settings have the right folder as the destination for the sent emails and have checked that all emails should be saved. I also get a message in Thundebird -The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxxx responded [TRYCREATE} Mailbox doesn't exist. Mail goes out but no copy is saved. Only two out of 6 accounts are affected and I didn't do anything to them before this started happening.

I had to delete and add back several accounts due to a change in servers (cox.net to yahoo.com). Prior to this I just had the All Folders, Local Folders and below. Now I have the Unified Folders and below, which are essentially a duplicate of the folders in the old All Folders. (See attached image) Not only is it making things confusing but I'm storing duplicate emails and it seems to be affecting performance, Thunderbird now randomly quits and restarts. So, how do I delete either the All Folders or the Unified Folders and move the few sub folders that are unduplicated into the remaining group?

I use Message Filters to automatically send certain emails to two specific folders upon receipt, based on some defined rules (mainly who the sender is). Yesterday, I accidentally clicked "Run Filters on Folder", and the actions for my filter rules ran on every folder in my account, including my Archive folder. I could not find a way to stop the action once it started, so hundreds of archived emails were pulled out of the Archive folder and repopulated into my two specified folders. In each of these specified folders, I had a handful of emails stored in order to be able to come back to them as reference or to deal with later; I remember what some of these emails were, but I don't necessarily remember all of them, and now they're mixed in with the hundreds of emails that were brought back from the archive.
So, I have two main questions:
1. How can I prevent this from ever happening again? Is there a way that I can tell the message filters that a filter should never be run on archived messages?
2. Is there a way I can "undo"/reverse what happened, so that the previously-archived emails are sent back to the Archive? Or is there at least a way to identify which emails were in the two specified folders before they were inundated with all the messages from the Archive?

Hi, in the past couple of weeks as I am moving selected emails from my Inbox to their Folders, the remaining emails in the Inbox have disappeared (twice)Most recently this Monday. I was able to have Yahoo recall /restore many of them Wednesday. Then Today Friday April 26; I selected an email in the Drafts Folder to Edit, by selecting the Edit button and it disappeared.
This all seems ODD. I have not changed any settings or done anything different. I have lots of storage on the Hard Drive. Would you kindly assist yours dennis
