Hello, My PGP key for one of my accounts stopped working while I was trying to draft a message. At first, the message said that my PGP key couldn't be located and thus my draft could not be saved (I believe I have all my drafts mandated to save as encrypted). I decided to delete the key from Thunderbird and try re-importing it. At first, it said the key had been imported successfully. However, when trying to select the key from my account page, nothing comes up. It's just blank. I quit Thunderbird several times and re-opened, only to get the same result. Now, after my most recent app restart, Thunderbird simply won't import my PGP key at all. Other accounts still have their PGP keys active, but not this one. I'm at a loss. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is this a new bug? I'm running the latest version of Thunderbird (91.8.0 (64-bit)) on macos. I've attached images. Please help! Thanks!!

I have 2 installs of Thunderbird on 2 different desktops accessing the same IMAP account. On one machine I have: Automatically delete junk mail older than 3 days On… (funda kabanzi)

I have 2 installs of Thunderbird on 2 different desktops accessing the same IMAP account.

On one machine I have:

  Automatically delete junk mail older than 3 days

On the other it is:

  Automatically delete junk mail is unselected.

Which has priority?

I am seeing junk mail from over 30 days in there so I'm guessing that if one installation does not automatically delete junk mail, then none of them do. Does the longest duration take precedence?

I keep getting a prompt from Windows Defender regarding a security threat from my email : C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\3a9dgcsq.default-release\ImapMail\MYDOMAIN\INBOX->(part0131:Shipping_Documents.docx)

I chose Windows Defender to remove this threat, but nothing happens. I have tried to search for the file name, and also tried to look into my inbox, even deleting mail in the inbox with attachments. I then cleared the log of Windows Defender, but this threat still shows up.

I am unable to locate this file. Please advise as I am desperate.

New issue after Thunderbird update 91.8.1., running MAC OS-X 10.13.6 High Sierra. My IMAP inbox stopped getting messages and just hangs. When I click Get Messages I get the spinning blue wheel. Down at the bottom of the window it says that it's connected to the imap server but nothing happens except the spinning wheel. The POP accounts are working fine. I checked with the domain host and nothing has changed on their end. I've had to resort to webmail for this account which is problematic. Any suggestions and solutions are appreciated. Please help! Will the current version of Thunderbird *run* under Win 7? Or not? Updating my OS on my primary PC is not an option. 98% of Thunderbird works just fine, the only issue I have is that I can't download images in emails. I'm afraid to upgrade, and break Thunderbird.

Yes, I have a Win 10 laptop, but it's too inconvenient to use it most of the time, so it stays in the box until I have something I *have* to use it for. That does not include daily email.

If so use the Advanced IMAP Server Settings dialog to reduce the number of cached connections" I have reduce the connections in 'Advanced' Server settings' to 1 but the problem persists. Ongoing Thunderbird messages "Mozilla thunderbird Authentication Required" but the email account is deleted

I temporarily logged into customer email account in order to download the mail in it and transfer it to their email at a different webhost.

And in fact subsequent to that the email account was closed at the prior host by its owner. They actually deleted the email account at the old host "Bluehost" which admittedly is a garbage host and hence why they moved.

So I removed it from my email accounts in my Thunderbird.

For some reason since then I have been receiving constant popups from Thunderbird "Authentication Required - Mozilla Thunderbird - https://box2164.bluehost.com:2080 is requesting your username and password. The site says: “Horde DAV Server”"

and the username field has the email address in it. The password field is blank.

And I checked the outgoing mail servers in Thunderbird to confirm I have no connection to the email acct stored in Thunderbird.

Any thoughts on how to alleviate this issue?

I used to send a group from my address book with 15 addresses in it.

Now I get this message "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: mL0anej4od7RfmL0bnCIXh internal error. AUP#SMTP. Please check the message recipient "kissrockssoo@shaw.ca" and try again."

I broke the group into two groups one with 8 and one with seven. I can send to each group individually so I do not understand why the larger group won't go.

Were limits put on at your end?

I don't know what has changed, but Thunderbird deleted older e-mails from both my and my daughter's Inboxes! The messages had not been starred, but they were important and thus saved in special folders (such as TRAVEL CONFIRMATIONS and COLLEGE INFO). Their disappearance has been highly problematic, distressing, frustrating!

Does anyone know WHY this happened and how to FIX/PREVENT it?

We Tried the following fix, but we don't know if this is correct: > [Clicked] Triple Bar > Account Settings > Synchronization & Storage > Disk Space > [Checked] Don't Delete Any Messages > [Checked] Don't Delete Starred Messages.

Incidentally, we saw the the box "Delete Messages Older than 45 days" was Checked, but neither of us had done that! Is this a Default? If so, IT MUST GO! (I had foreign travel confirmations that were ONLY in Inbox and couldn't be confirmed any other way.)

No error message to report. When I search in folders, I can preview the contents of a given message. This is working fine every place except one of my Trash folders. I have three main folders, each of which has a Trash folder within it. Periodically I move all messages from two of those folders to my main Trash folder.

Previewing messages works in all of my folders, including all of the Trash folders EXCEPT for the most important Trash folder. There, every message is displaying alright UNTIL I enter something in the Quick Filter. As soon as I do that, all messages in the folder display blank contents.

Once that happens, even clearing the Quick Filter doesn't return message contents.

I closed and reopened several times , no joy. I restarted my desktop, no joy. I managed to arrow to the right from file and got to help. chose the update message. restarted but still same way. If I uninstall it will I lose everything? I was planning to migrate it to my laptop but only going to be home 1 day and afraid to try it. I could use it on Webmail for my trip but I wouldn't have my address book or all of my file folders. H E L P Please.
