I have recently moved from Outlook to Thunderbird as Outlook developed a problem communicating with my Virgin Media email accounts. I am slowly finding my way around Thunderbird, but am experiencing a problem with some of my sub folders. This only applies to Virgin Media accounts.
I have looked at previous questions on a similar topic and have tried the simpler solutions (the ones applying to advanced users are Greek to me)! Unfortunately, they haven't solved my problem.
If I go to account settings and uncheck the "show only subscribed folders" box, the greyed out sub folder disappear. However, right-clicking on the folder heading and selecting subscribe and attempting to subscribe to the folders there, doesn't work.
Is there a simple process I can go through to access these sub folders?

I cannot sent email to one specific recipient. I have two accounts, one through gmail and one through AT&T. When I try and sent an email to this one recipient from either account, the File/Send Now function is grayed out. Ctrl-Enter does not work either. This is the only recipient I cannot send mail to. I've sent test email to several other recipients with no problem. Obviously, I'm not getting any kind of 'email blocked' type of message, since nothing is being sent out.
My Thunderbird version is 91.9.0 (32-bit)
Any ideas why this is happening?

I am trying to add a new gmail account to Thunderbird but when I enter my address and password, a pop up appears in which I need to enter mail address at google. I do this, but it seems to just re-prompt me.
I have attached images of the steps taken to try to add the gmail account:
tb1.png: I enter name, address, password. tb2.png: TB validates this and adds some server info. tb3.png: a popup opens and my address is pre entered. I click the blue button. tb4.png: I am reprompted for my email address. I can enter my address again and again and click blue button but I am re prompted every time. Seems impossible to proceed from here.
If I can open this pop URL in a proper browser to inspect what is going wrong, I could probably fix this issue. However, TB will not let me copy the URL from the address bar which is frankly user hostile behavior :(
I have tried doing this on several different internet connections as well as tried disabling pihole, etc. So that does not seem to be the cause.

Recently, and not for the first time, Thunderbird sent an automatic reply which thankfully bounced. However I couldn't find the offending email when searching for this address. Using a third party tool, namely Agent Ransack aka FileLocator Lite, I found the folder and hence the email.
How can I do this within Thunderbird. I can only select To, From, Cc and/or Bcc. Not Reply-To.
Can anyone let me know if this is possible, if so how?

I am experiencing a problem with the SMTP server rejecting sessions from Thunderbird v91.7.0 running on Fedora 36. Specifically, if I try to forward 2 e-mail messages only 1 message will make it to the SMTP server and actually get forwarded. The error message I receive is
Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: p-impout008.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net cmsmtp too many sessions from 104.33.187.187 AUP#Out-1360.
I researched the problem a bit and there seems to be a Thunderbird solution for IMAP users. However, I am using POP and I haven't found a way to configure a limit on simultaneous SMTP sessions.
This problem occurs because I am using Message Filters to automatically forward messages to another user. I think what happens is that Thunderbird is able to filter multiple messages for forwarding and tries to create multiple simultaneous SMTP sessions.

GoDaddy.com hosts my email service. They recently migrated their email from their own server, secureserver.net, to office365.com. I changed my Thunderbird IMAP and SMTP server settings to office365, but it seems that Thunderbird still thinks my server is secureserver.net. I'm attaching a screen shot of the error message that comes up when Thunderbird tries to fetch messages. The Troubleshooting Information is pasted below. You can see the (correct) office365 servers. I did a word search of the entire document, and sercureserver.net does not appear anywhere. So why would it appear in the error message?

I'm not knowledgeable about figuring this stuff out, so I'd be very grateful for some help. The email that's not working is a gmail account. At first I was getting an error message about the password not working. I'm positive I'm using the correct password, because I tried it on https://mail.google.com/ and it worked fine.
I have Windows 10. I updated Thunderbird to 91.8.0 (32-bit) and it didn't make any difference -- I still can't receive or send email from the problem account. I didn't change any server settings (they are the same as my other gmail accounts, except for the specific account names).
When I try to get messages, it says says Connected to pop.gmail.com...
then
connection to pop.gmail.com server timed out
I have no idea what this means or what to do. If you need more information about my settings, just let me know what you need and I'll get it.

However when I select "Write", it puts them automatically into the "To" box. I want them in the "Bcc" box. I see where you can move them from the To to the Bcc but it won't let you select ALL of them, you have to move each one, one at a time.... ARRGGG. Why can't this simple issue be resolved? This was no problem with Windows Live Mail. One "solution" says I can select the contacts from my "address side bar" next to the email..... I have NO sidebar.

In trying to troubleshoot, under advanced server settings, I get the error message that the storage local directory is invalid. Your scripts automatically set the directory as /data/home/user/.thunderbird/....however the default directory cannot be edited in the window. When I browse for other directories, your application will not show hidden files, therefore I cannot select the directory which was already installed by thunderbird at /home/user/.thunderbird... This should be reported as a bug as there is no means to select the appropriate directory. It cannot be entered directly in the window and cannot be selected through your browse application. My OS is NomadBSD, on FreeBSD13-RC6.

I upgraded to V90 because Gmail will not work with Thunderbird after May 30, 2022. Since upgrading, password manager does not work, (won't store passwords) and I have to manually sign in to all my Gmail and Hotmail accounts at every start up and every time I select "Get Messages" on menu.
