Hello first sorry if this has been posted before and I missed it.

Been looking for an alternative email client since Microsoft is changing over to their clunky web mail app in windows.

Been trying out Thunderbird (version 115) added my Outlook/Microsoft account which works fine email wise but the calendar does not show up. I can add the same account or my google account to say EM mail or mailbird and the calendar shows/syncs up s in those programs effortlessly.

Does this not work the same in Thunderbird or do I need some extra plug ins? I seen trying to share and export the ics file but I just want to sync it like any other program.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I have several individuals stored in my Contacts for whom I've loaded their birthdates. I would like to receive reminders and/notifications in Thunderbird when these birthdates are approaching, say like 10 days out. Is there a way to configure Contacts and/or Calendar to get these reminders/notifications in advance of these birthdates? If so, how?

thanks, Tom

I recently upgraded (and then downgraded) to 102 release but was very disappointed to note that the release disables the very useful WebDAV and tbsync add-ons that are mission critical for me to sync my calendars from my hotmail and google accounts in and out of Thunderbird. These work great on TB 91 release and I had hoped that the new release will either provide support for various calendars (Google and Microsoft at the very least) out of the box or preserve the calendar sync support using the existing add-ons at a minimum.

Is there a way to make these calendars sync in Thunderbird 102 release? If so, please help. - Thanks a ton!

I have Thunderbird version 115.5.1 installed on my Windows 11 laptop. I have logged into my gmail account and subscribed to google calendar. I have turned the off default reminders for events and don't have any extensions installed, but when I create a new event and select "No Reminder," Thunderbird automatically sets a 30-minute reminder. I can modify the reminder by editing the event after saving, but I can't directly create a new event with no reminder.

In or around TB 91.3.1 double-clicking on an event, you get a dialog box such as the attached. In order to edit the event, you have to hit the Edit button. In the past, TB would just open the event and allow you to edit it. If the event was recurring then, and only then, would a small dialog box come up to ask if you were editing just this event or all events. I see no advantage to this extra dialog box, especially for one-time-only events. It's just another unnecessary click of the mouse.

I have recently become a Thunderbird user (115.5.0), and have linked it to my gmail account for email, calendar and contacts (and tasks, but that does not seem to be working).

My calendar within Thunderbird shows a recurring daily event which does not appear in my Google Calendar. I'm not sure how to resolve this issue.

You can see on the attached image, on the right is my google calendar which Thunderbird is supposed to be syncing with, on the left is the Thunderbird calendar, which has all these extra recurring events.

Any thoughts on how to fix this would be gratefully received.

thanks in advance,

Keith

Hi,

I noticed when dismissing any and all calendar event with Thunderbird I'm always presented with a "Item Changed on Server" dialog.

It asks me to "Submit my changes anyway" (even though I've made no changes) or to "Discard my changes and reload"

It doesn't occur on any other app that I use to receive calendar notifications, it should just dismiss when I click dismiss from the initial alert.

Is there something I've missed in the set up or a work around to prevent this dialogue to pop up when I "dismiss" a calendar notification?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

When I woke my computer from "Sleep mode" on the morning of 14 Jan 2023 The Event Calendar on the right pane still showed the date as 13 Jan 2023 As illustrated in the first screen shot, there are even 2× "Today" entries, one for the 13th, and one for the 14th. When bringing up a new Event, by tapping the new Event button button, even the dates defaulted to the 13th, and not to the current day, the 14th.

Tapping the "Today" button in the header of the Calendar Event pane, did force the pane to refresh, and update itself. Subsequently, a "New Event" was dated to "today" by default.

This has happened on previous versions of Thunderbird, I just happened to document it this time. Most days (99% of the time), my computer is shutdown, so on restart, when Thunderbird launches, the Calendar Event pane syncs with the current date by default.

I am importing events from another calendar. This calendar and the events are marked as read only. However, they do not contain any reminders and I cannot add reminders because of the locked status. Is there anyway to add reminders to these entries or remove the read only status? The other alternative is to write a program that regularly writes the current calendar to a .ics file, finds items and creates its own notifications. I really do not want to have to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if this is Thunderbird's calendar behaviour or a bug. I am running TB 102.13.1 on Debian Buster/10 under GNOME. My Google calendar via the web interface does not exhibit the behaviour below.

When I create a repeating/multi-day "All day Event" and specify a date under "Repeat until", the end date specified does not have an event entry after saving the event. An event is shown for all days from the event start to the day _before_ the desired end date. I have tested that a similar time-specific repeating event does not exhibit this behaviour and the end date has an event for the desired end date.

I have tested this against my Google calDAV calendar and the default "Home" calendar and the behaviour is consistent for both.

Hello,

I have thunderbird. I have several email accounts set up. I have a Google Calendar. I sometimes receive invites by emails and I want to be able to accept them s.t. they get added to my Google Calendar automatically. I don't use the Calendar feature of Thunderbird itself.

- Now what I did was download the Google Calendar Provider Addon and synced my Google Calendar. This gets me the "no writeable calendar" found. - If I create a "local" calendar inside Thunderbird, it works but then it just addes the invite to the local calendar and I have 0 sync. - I thought maybe I use CalDav but File => new => Calendar just shows me "local calendar/network calendar/google calendar".

Any help is appreciated.
