My emails are threading up, even ones that have nothing to do with each other. I've tried 'collapsing threads' in the 'view' menu, but it doesn't seem to help. With so much threading going on, I can't even find some of the new emails that I am alerted to.

I don't want to see every message from some person tabbed across the screen when I search for their name. I want to just pick one message, often a recent message.
How do I search for a message from a random person and only get one message I choose to view?

I recently and reluctantly converted from my Eudora mail client to Thunderbird about two months ago and I keep having this same problem. I am not sure if I have the correct settings activated so hopefully someone may be able to advise. I have Windows 10, laptop Accessing a "********@usa.net" address via "smtp.postoffice.net" "port 587" Problem is that my junk, sent, draft, trash messages re download when I log back in again. My understanding is that Thunderbird only downloads the headers whereas my Eudora downloaded the complete message so is the fact that it is only the headers being downloaded that it then re downloads them when logging back in?? It is so frustrating having to wait for these messages to download AGAIN when I am just trying to check my emails quickly. Can anyone advise what I might be doing wrong or what settings may need tweaking? Thank you

I have two principal address books, collected and personal. I can add new contacts to these address books. Under collected, I have three lists of group contacts. I want to add a contact to a list in the personal address book. Searched under Firefox and lots of suggestions to drag n drop. Ha ha, highlighting the contact, the moment I drag it across the box towards the list of address books, I get the no-entry symbol, circle with a bar through it. Why is this happening please? How can I copy across the address books or lists? Why is drag n drop suggested when it doesn't work? I'm using Win 10 Pro vers 22H2 64 bit on a Dell PC. Firefox 118.0.2 64 bit. I used to have an extension or add-on the allowed me to play my own sounds for an incoming email on Thunderbird. However, that seems to have disappeared and I cannot find an add-on that will allow me to to that. I have many sounds that used to work but whenever you do an update to the browser they don't work.
Is there any add-on that you have that will work with my own alerts on Thunderbird or do I need to find another browser?
