One day one account decided that won't get new messages, so I deleted that account, tried to add it again and it is showing me mistake: Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password. I am 100% sure, that all the credentials are correct. Could you please try to help me?

I see that others have had the same problem as me. My trash folder has many thousands of duplicate emails. If I block delete them it will take days to complete. So 3 questions 1. How do I stop duplicate emails in my trash. After deleting many reappear with the date 01/01/1970 2. Is there a faster way of deleting. I use select email>shift key>find last email>delete 3. Is there a limit to how many emails I can put into the block mentioned in #2

Hi team. Since yesterday, Thunderbird has stopped receiving and sending emails from both my accounts. Get this error message: Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead. Thunderbird detected a potential security threat and did not continue to live.thunderbird.net. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details. How can I fix this? Regards, Tonia

I want to move a lot of gmails to the Bin but keep them in local folders. An answer to someone else's problem said to be sure the local folder contains a true copy and not just a link, by checking that I could read it, but how do I do that for several thousand emails? Maybe they are all true copies in at least in one local folder? I need to remove a large chunk of 25000 gmails in All Mail to free up space on my hard disk. I was having problems with Global Search and followed instructions to re-index everything. Apart from taking several hours to index All Mail, I subsequently found that I could no longer get 2GB free space by using Disk Cleanup, the best I could get was about 300MB, which is apparently too small for Thunderbird to compact All Mail, or for Dropbox to sync with my mobile phone camera photos. The All Mail file in C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\hgwapwu4.default\ImapMail\imap.gmail.com\[Gmail].sbd is 4.5GB, and Important is 1GB

On startup TB pops an error box up saying ' There is no email program associated to perform this action'. When dismissed TB continues to open normally. No other errors seen during operation.

I have checked my Win 10 Control Panel Apps options. TB is the email default. MailTo, file type .eml and all other settings I can see are set to TB as well.

Answer have apparently been posted but I can’t see the email thread either. I really need some help here please. Hello! Since I couldn't find help in the forums, I will create a new question. For about a year now the PC at my work will not open mailto-links correctly. There is no account to select from, the subject has a lock-symbol. The receiver's address is correct though (I replaced it with "address" for the screenshot). This PC is the only one I know with that problem and only with external mailto-links. If I click on an email address inside a mail, it opens it correctly. Thunderbird version 115.11.1 (32-Bit), Win 10

It's pretty impractical, so I am hoping for help. Thank you!

When going from Help on menu to check for updates receive the error message - Failed to check for updates.

Running on Windows 10 with NAV - problem is recent in origin but I can't be exact as it's not my regular PC.

So far I've manually updated Thunderbird from 115.11.1 to 115.11.2 (64bit)by downloading from Mozilla website, rebooted from cold several times, and applied the fix from Norton:" https://community.norton.com/en/forums/auto-update-norton-360-v2449067835-now-causes-security-exception-thunderbird " in case it was related. It appears to be unrelated because on my regular PC the NAV update occurred necessitating the fix to the security exception error but don't have the checking for updates error.

thanks

Suddenly without warning Thunderbird displays a message 'Checking mail server capabilities.......' in the bottom left of the inbox screen. Messages from the server [Optus] are not downloaded. I have changed the SMTP server to the default 465 and changed the security setting to 'None' but the problem has not been resolved. I note that there are alot of queries about this problem but I cann ot find a solution anywhere on the Mozilla help pages.

Hello. Cox.com (my current email account) is no longer servicing emails and is switching my 4 email accounts to yahoo. I am to sign in with my cox.com address (which is not changing), but my emails will show in Yahoo. Since this account is already listed in Thunderbirsd with Cox.com (not a new email), I need to be able to configure Thunderbird to get my emails from Yahoo. They have only transferred 1 of 4 so far, so I will need this information for the other 3 when it happens. Thank you for any help. I have already missed some emails.

Hi. I was receiving emails until 10:30am yesterday and then nothing. No emails are being received on any of my email addresses since then on my Thunderbird site. I can receive them on my phone, so I know I am being sent emails but nothing on my computer. When I click "Get Message", nothing happens. When I try to send a email - "Add Security Exception" screen comes up saying you are about to override how Thunderbird identifies this site. Why has this just started and what do I need to do to be able to receive and send emails again?

I was going through some of my old archived email and found some with huge image files attached to them. I then detached the images, resized/compressed using a jpg tool and wanted to reassociate them with the email.

This sounds ridiculous, but it would be nice to be able to do it if I can and I'm just missing the menu item to let me do it.

Here is a very strange problem: 1. all my notifications about interac are attributed to only one person: INTERAC e-Transfer: A money transfer from X has been automatically deposited. Under correspondents I have Y, no matter what X is. 2. When I do a global search for INTERAC, all notifications show up, but attributed to Z, different from X and Y. Further, Z only sent me an interac transfer once, maybe 10 years ago. Indeed, if I global search for Z, none of the interac notifications show up. 3. this is ONLY on Thunderbird, not at the server.

Any ideas?

I read that to import Outlook (I have 365) pst files I need 'downgrade' from Thunderbird 115 to Thunderbird v 38.1 .

But that was an older post, so I am hoping there are now ways to import pst files directly into Thurderbird 115 (I have a lot, each with lots of e-mails).

If not: 1) can I leave 115 on my computer and install v 38.1 in addition - import the outlook pst files into 38.1, store them as 'local files' on my hard drive and then connect those to 115 ? 2) Since I read something about installing v 38.1, importing the pst files (and presumably storing them as local files on the hard drive/external drive?) and then updating that to v 115, I suspect that 1) is not an option. 3) so next question is (haven't searched for that yet) : if I have to delete 115, I will have to re-connect all my local folders once I am upgraded again to 115. I have them all (a lot) stored on an external drive - is there guidance somewhere on how to get those 'recognized' all at the same time by Thunderbird 115 ? (Outlook is not very userfriendly in that regard, one needs to 'open' each pst file individually). 4) final question while I am at it: latest outlook version has limitation on the number of pst files one can have open at the same time - I found that out the hard way. Is there also a limitation on how many local folders one can have in thunderbird 115 ? THANKS A LOT in advance for your help (this is my second time asking for help and last time I got an e-mail with an absolutely perfect answer). Annette.
