Ever since upgrading to the latest version I'm having all kinds of problems with my s22 Galaxy Android. Thinking somehow like on a PC it would save all my bookmarks I deleted the app and then reinstalled it only to find that I've lost everything! Is there a way to restore this?

I just finished setting up my new pc with Windows 11 (Feb 2023 updates) and installed Firefox 110.0.1) and wanted to transfer my logins, passwords, etc, from my Android 12 Phone's Firefox 110.1.0, and other pcs. A window popped up giving instructions how to sync my phone, as follow:

      • Sync Firefox on you phone or tablet. 1) open Firefox on your Mobile Device. 2) Go to the menu (<ios>&<android>menu examples shown) and tap sync and save data. 3. Tap ready to scan and hold your phone over this code.***

I'm 73, have used Firefox since first release in 2004. In all these years I have never seen SYNC in the instructions to "sync and save and to point the phone at a barcode-thingy" or at least not in this world. The instructions made it seem like SYNC was right there to see, but I had to dig thru layes of options to finally find it. You can blaim it on my 73 yr old brain, I guess, but nothing like these instructions exist in Windows or Android firfox. What in the world are your programmers smokin' these days. I would just as soon open up Edge or Chrome and did up the passwords I need to log into my banking and creditcard accounts...heck, it seems like MAYBE I should just dump Firefox after almost 20 years and just use those other browsers. At least there instructions are much simpler that this ol' man can follow. Please have someone review your published helps info on your webpages, and help those Sr. citizens like me to more easily find what we need without calling up grandsons or granddaughters for help (their parents are worse than I am at most techy stuff!) I am trying to sync my desktop Firefox data to my Android phone, a Samsung Galaxy S21+. In every help topic I read, it says to click the three dots on Android, go to settings and click "Sync and save data," then click "Ready to scan" and scan the QR code provided from my desktop account. The issue I am running into is that the "Sync and save data" option does not exist on my Firefox Android app. If I click on my profile on the phone, I can click "Sync" but it doesn't do anything. It does not work if I try to scan the QR code through the phone camera instead. I am at a loss for how to sync my Mozilla account on these two devices. My Firefox app is up to date. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

There are three problems, all related, that are frustrating me with Firefox on Android. I have a Samsung Galaxy 24+. I am trying to get Firefox to use a local HTML file that are my bookmarks, but I am stymied at every turn:

1) when I click on the local, Galaxy, HTML file, I get the standard "Open with" pop up, but they only list: Chrome, HTML View, Android's Internet browser, and Samsung Print Services. Why doesn't Firefox show up there? This is important to me. Is Firefox failing to register its browser properly in Galaxy products?

2) The next thing I try to do is to sync bookmarks so that I can use my hundreds of bookmarks (rather than adding them into Firefox one at a time). So, I click on the famous three vertical dots and there is no "Sync" function in that menu, see attached. So I cannot import my bookmarks from my PC's bookmarks.

3) Thirdly, I try to type into the URL field what Chrome uses to access local files, which is for example: "content://media/external/file/1000005061" but Firefox android does not recognize that. When I change it to "file://media/external/file/1000005061" that does not work either.

Can you fix the three issues above? Thanks. Rick. see attached.

I setup sync, the device paired. It said it was syncing and when finished the bookmarks folder looked totally different on my kindle fire. I can not find any of the recently added bookmarks on the kindle. The History and Open Tabs are still the same, I didn't have those selected for sync. I checked and one password that I knew was previously incorrect on the kindle got updated to the correct one from the desktop. But I am worried about any possible passwords that were only on the kindle or were correct on the kindle and incorrect on the desktop, based on the bookmarks I suspect those were lost also. I was worried about this and had tried to find the profile data on the kindle but no file manager helped, I couldn't find it anywhere. And there doesn't seem to be a way to access profile manager on android. I also poked around with adb with no success. I was hoping to make a backup before using sync but I gave up and did sync anyway. Is there anyway to recover this data?

Maybe I am blind and wise developers already have this option but I doubt it!! and my obvious question is how in the world I have to sync all my collection list of web pages ???? and pinned sites ??? why this is so hard for a dev brain to understand that if you made a option for storing weblinks so should be a way of saving all this !!!! VERY OBVIOUS THING !!but in 2023 we still have problems losing bookmarks and other data !!! because of horible app design (not UI) !! im in the process in moving to new phone and I'm stuck because I don't see a way of saving all my old phone to ne without deleting lot of info or with lot of manual work to copy at least something and this is 2023 !!!

The browser for android is excellent in a lot of ways, but I find it really irritating when I open the app and see tabs I already closed in my previous sessions open in the new session. You end up having to close the same tab multiple times because each time you leave the app and return, the tabs are automatically reopened. Sometimes as many as 2 or 3 previously closed tabs are reopened automatically whenever the app is opened next. I just find this quirk highly annoying and I wonder if there's a fix for this

I've been deleting my saved passwords in Firefox, after migrating to a standalone password manager. It's been anything but easy (deletions are not synced, and bulk deletion process is inconvenient to say the least).

What worries me is that my "deleted" passwords kept coming back as soon as I enabled Sync, until I realised I had duplicate devices in my Mozilla account control panel. I still have, though, some other connected services (Add-ons, Mozilla Support, Mozilla Monitor...).

Is what I've done enough to ensure they're gone? Where exactly are synced passwords stored, and how can I be sure that they aren't lying around in a Mozilla server, awaiting a future data breach? I don't have the time and energy to change 200+ passwords.

Hello there,

I changed my Mozilla password and naturally had to log in again into my account on Android. The whole process worked flawlessly, I can get into my account, the device is shown in the active sessions, everything seems fine. However, when I open the settings on Android, Firefox tells me to log in into my account to sync the data - so I am simultaneously logged in and not logged in. I have restarted Firefox, restarted my phone, un- and reinstalled Firefox, nothing updates the app to finally acknowledge that I am logged in. Is there anything else I can do?

I changed my the password to my Firefox account, let's call the old one "OldPassword" and the current one "NewPassword". When I sign into accounts.firefox.com, I enter "NewPassword", and it works as expected. HOWEVER, occasionally when I try to sign into my Firefox account, it tells me that password is INCORRECT.

The most reproducible situation is when I have some sync issue and I need to sign back into my Firefox Account on mobile in order to reestablish a Sync connection between FF Mobile and FF Desktop. In this situation, entering "NewPassword" fails, but "OldPassword" works!

If I go to accounts.firefox.com/settings/change_password, and enter "OldPassword" in the Current Password field and "NewPassword" in the New Password fields, it will say that I've entered an incorrect current password. When I put "NewPassword" in the Current PW field, it accepts that as correct, but then says, "New password cannot be the same as current password."

My current theory is that Firefox Sync used to be a separate service from the Firefox Account, and users could create a password for each that didn't necessarily have to be the same (That's how it used to work, right? Am I remembering that correctly?) A few years back, Sync got integrated into Account so it all uses one password. At some point, I updated my account password to "NewPassword", but for some reason the Sync part of the system didn't get its credential updated in the same way.

Can anyone provide insight into this situation, or how to fix it? I'd really like to not have to remember two separate FF passwords and guess which one to use each time I need to sign in.
