I am migrating to a new phone. WhatsApp offered firefox as an option for storing its passkey. That took me to the connection and synchronisation process which the new phone said had failed. However all my tabs and other passwords appear to be syncing. Now selecting firefox to store the WhatsApp passkey takes me back to the failure page every time. Any idea how to restart the passkey addition to firefox process? WhatsApp won't work whilst I'm hung up in limbo between the two apps.

Hi, I'm having issues with my Google search results page. It used to be very clean looking and mainly only showing the results of whatever I searched. Today though, I searched something and now the Google results are first showing Reddit answers, what others have asked, discussions and forums, what others have searched, short videos, etc. I have to scroll really far down just to get some normal search results. How can I fix this? Call me old school but I want the classic version back. Please help, I don't want to switch browsers. I've been using Firefox nearly since it's launch, since StumbleUpon days. Yeah!!! If you know, you know. Thanks!

Version 125.2.0, Android 11 Settings: Firefox is default browser. 'Open links in apps' is set to 'Ask before opening'

Scenario:

  • With the Swiss payment app 'Twint' I scan a QR-code for a payment
  • This will open the embedded browser to show a payment site (sbs.twint.ch)
  • After entering the amount and pressing submit, the flow is supposed to return to the Twint-app. However, here it just blocks and I cannot navigate anywhere or return to the app manually

Workaround:

  • When the embedded view shows, in its menu, I can select 'Open in Firefox'
  • Entering the amount there and pressing submit, the popup shows, asking me whether 'to open the link in app'. When I confirm, I am redirected back to the app and can confirm the payment there.

I suspect, the webview does not show the popup but wait for it to be confirmed and thus the flow is blocked. I have searched the forum but could not find anything matching. Still, is that a known issue?

Routing the Nekobox proxy through AdGuard does not work in Firefox for Android. In Nekobox, it looks like the packet is sent and connected, but in whatsmyipadress, the original IP address is displayed. I put the local host address and port number for Nekobox in http.proxy in about:config and restarted, but the original IP address is still displayed.
