I have a question about the same topic of this older thread here -

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1257189

...when you do some of the solutions to this problem the copy-and-paste from either the vertical column or in Bookmarks manager it will copy the whole URL code as the title of the link and not what you renamed that link or its default name from its creator.

Is there a way to copy-and-paste the bookmarks WITH the already-created link names attached from the previous Firefox / Waterfox browser?

I have multiple windows open with multiple tabs on each. Most created before I had a Firefox login (if that makes any difference).

I am upgrading my os on my Mac and somehow either a) keep all the windows with all their tabs open (preferable) or b) easily create some record of what they all are so I could relaunch them if a) is impossible.

How can I do this?

I started using Firefox ESR a while ago when I had an older version of Mac OS. Now I am running High Sierra (OS 10.13) and I think I could use the standard release of Firefox, which may have newer features supported. How do I switch to that?

How do I delete a single bookmark? The instructions in your help file do not work. I click on the blue star in the top right corner, hit "Delete bookmark," but the bookmark does not delete. I have tried shutting down Firefox and restarting after giving the delete command, but no dice. The bookmark seems immortal! Using Mac OS 10.13.6.

Hi,

I have a problem with Firefox 102.5esr on MacOS 10.13 and storing the user-profile on a SMB-share in the intranet.

On startup I get the error "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" and as expected, bookmarks and history are not working. Access etc. in the network are correct, I tried it with two different clients on two different servers (Linux-Server and NAS), the profile is a fresh created, deleting and recreating does not help.

If I copy the created profile on the local disk, Firefox starts without an error, bookmarks/history are working, if I copy this profile back to the SMB-share, I get back the error-message.

In the past (I don't remember when it was and which version) this was working with Firefox and today it still works with the current Thunderbird.

Any ideas?

PS: The described solutions in the KB are not working: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-bookmarks-and-history-will-not-be-functional

Thanks, kind regards, tg

After experiencing some problems (saved tabs being empty, menus gone etc.) I read about restarting into troubleshoot mode ("Help"-"Troubleshoot mode" menu) which solved those problems (I believe "Troubleshoot mode" might be the same as "Refreshing" Firefox, from what I've read -correct me if I'm wrong) . I'm on Firefox 98.0.2 on a Mac.

Following that I quit Firefox and opened it again the normal way which I assume means it went into the normal mode as before, but I realized all my extensions were gone! Reading through some older postings I see they're in a profile named "legacy_BAK.profile", and in addition I have recent Time Machine backups, so any files aren't lost, but I guess the simplest way to fix this is to re-install my extensions -but most extensions (inside the "extensions" folder within the profile folder) only have a cryptic numbered name with and .XPI extension. So how can I find out which extensions I used to have, and better yet -is there a quick way to just install everything back again with a single click (installing it from the legacy profile folder, or just moving something over to the new folder etc.)?

Even when I'm in Full Screen mode on my Mac, Firefox insists on putting a tab bar at the top of the page; how do I hide that tab bar? I've searched all over the settings and Internet to find an answer, but no luck in finding the answer.

The main idea of "Full Screen Mode" is to maximize the usable display area of the browser window. When I'm using Full Screen Mode, I am intentionally using just one URL. If I need a new window, then I'll get another Full Screen Firefox window (not a tab). This is an incredible waste of screen real estate, to have a single tab consuming an entire row... so irritating!

Firefox didn't used to do this; can you tell which older version that I can use that doesn't have this behavior?

Thanks...

I just updated the Firefox browser and installed it successfully. When I tried to open the browser, I got a msg stating that the security of the page I am trying to open has not been verfied. Really don't understand that since it is the firefox browser and this came from Mozilla. How do I correct that?

I am using an iMac that uses MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6. Because of its age, it cannot use an operating system beyond High Sierra. When I selected to update Firefox today, Apple generated a message that said Firefox would no longer work on my computer. Firefox 102.14 Oesr (64-bit) is installed and seems to work.

Will I no longer be able to update Firefox?
