I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Some webpages, that I must log in to, are coming up blank, when I attempt to login. No error, just blank white page. Two examples are paypal and textfree. I have cleared everything I can think of or find on the internet. I have refreshed and restarted several times. This has all started int he last few weeks. The two sites mentioned are ones I really need access to. I am not sure if it is my machine or the browser.

For the past several weeks when I click on Messenger from the Facebook web page I get a blank page with the Facebook header. Same if I click the little shortcut button (brings up a blank box). I've cleared all cookies and cache but no change. I do not have this problem with Safari so I believe it is a Firefox issue and not a Facebook issue.

Suddenly when I try to go on Youtube, I get messages that I'm blocking ads. I'm on a Mac-mini using X El Capitan V10.11.6, which is the highest I can upgrade to. I'm using Firefox Browser 78.15 (64-bit) and info shows it's up to date. My old Safari browser still will work with Youtube, but Foxfire is my go-to browser.

I am running 78.15.0esr on my macbook pro and when I go to Password manager and pull down the menu under the 3 dots I do not have the option of EXPORT LOGINS... (SEE ATTACHED IMAGE) How can I export my login for 1Password since I do not have the option to do so. I can see my passwords and individually see my passwords but cannot export. Since I have 588 passwords I need to be able to create a cvs file.

WED 21FEB24 The urgent issue is that in the last few weeks, many web pages do not load content, just a grey or white screen. Some will load the header. I am the Executor for someone's estate, and I am having this trouble with some financial websites that I must access to do the job.

Its been many years since I upgraded anything. It might be that Macintosh Firefox 78.15.0 esr (64 bit) and Thunderbird 60.9.1 are the newest revs that work with OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan. I have a 2011 MacBookPro.

I don't like the changes in the user interface that Apple put into OSX after El Capitan. But I may be forced to upgrade. Too late in life to learn Linux.

Maybe the minimalist solution is to upgrade Firefox. But that may require upgrading OSX, and Apple has made it really hard to do that unless you go to the very newest. OTOH I don't know if the newer OSX will run on my 2011 MacBook Pro. If I clicked on "software update" in About This Mac, what would happen? would it just start doing it, or tell me about it first?

The last time I upgraded something, probably Thunderbird but maybe it was Firefox, I had to learn a complicated process to copy & save the User Profiles (they are in a hidden directory), and then install them into the new rev. I don't want to go through that again. I just want to run the dmg file.

There used to be a Mozilla web page with all the versions & you could download the dmg file you wanted.

If I still have problems, I would have to buy a much newer computer. A several year old MacBookPro. But I don't like the "new" disk formatting method Apple created. It saves space by not actually making copies of files, but uses a pointer to one copy. So there is a single point of failure, which makes copies pointless. I want to keep using OSX Extended (Journaled) and I would have to have the seller of the computer do that for me, before I used Migration Assistant to put my stuff on it. I also hate the welded-on hard drive; being able to pull the drive is the best "broken hardware" solution.

I don't recall if El Capitan has the "OSX Recovery" system or if that happened in a later rev.

I use SuperDuper to make a clone of my hard drive as a backup & archive. I wonder if I could connect a copy on an external drive and then startup using the external copy. Then I could upgrade Firefox and see if it works, then do the same for OSX if necessary, and Thunderbird.

Suggestions & how-to info needed. TIA

I always thought Firefox Sync was kind of a backup service. Today I was disappointed to learn that Firefox Sync cannot be trusted as a backup service.

A search for “firefox sync” finds 2,929 results in Community Discussion Only.

“It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device... The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.”

I looked through all the Mozilla Help Articles I could find about Firefox Sync. Not one of them mentions that Firefox Sync should not be relied upon as a backup service.

In the blog, JR Conlin says, among other things: “A New Hope Service: A lot of folks expected it to be a Backup service. The good news is, now it is a backup service. Sync is more reliable now.”

JR Conlin posted the above blog in Sept 2020. Is there anyone who can comment on JR Conlin’s statement or the progress of his and his team’s work?

Dear Firefox Officer,

I have been requested by e-mail to update my Firefox 78.15.Oesr (64 bits) before the end of March. Is this update compatible with my MacBookPro5,4 with IOS El Capitan 10.11.6? Please note that I cannot install a more recent IOS. Without updating my present Firefox, would I still have access to all my favorite folders and applications? Thanks for your help. Hello, For me, there is no substitute for browsing with Firefox. But for some time now I've been getting notices that I'm not using the current browser version, for example in my email program and the banking application. However, Firefox info in the menu says that I am using the current version and there are no updates available. Here is the Firefox version shown to me: 78.15.0esr (64-bit) I work with an iMac of the following version: iMac (21.5 inch, from 2010) - OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 (15G22010); - Processor: 3.06GHz Intel Core i3; - Memory: 4GB 1333MHz DDR3; - Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB Maybe my computer is too old for the latest version, but why does Firefox Info show me that the browser is up to date and there are no updates? I am using 78.15.0 esr Firefox browser on early 2008 iMac with OS X 10.11.6. I can't realistically update the OS, as all advice seems to be that anything above 10.11.6 does not work well with the 2008 iMac. 78.15.0 esr Firefox browser is fantastic and I have been happily using it for a few years now. Why force me to stop? Why force me to stop using my super 27" screen iMac, which still works superbly well and would cost many thousands to replace with a new model?

My apple computer is 2008 imac and on the 78.15.Oesr and no more updates exist, will i still be able to use firefox web browser after March 31st

I need a link to download the last version of Firefox that worked with my iOs 10.11111111... version for my OLD MacBook Pro. (2009)... Can't afford new Mac and newest version of iOs won't run on this MacBook... Too old... Same story: need new, no $$$... So, I what I need is a link to the old version of Firefox that I CAN run on my MacBook... One that works with iOs 10.11116 or whatever...

I have the latest version of Firefox 78.15.0esr (64-bit) on my Macbook Pro. Netflix says, "Looks like your browser is no longer supported. Please install the latest version or install another browser. Error Code F7121-3078" (see image 1).

Netflix streaming works fine on Opera, but I can't get it working on Firefox, even though it was working fine on Firefox a couple of days ago (Sept 15, 2022). Any help you can offer would be appreciated very much. I have two plug ins: Facebook Container and EFF Privacy Badger. There is no update available to update Firefox. It appears that when the new version of Widevine updated yesterday (see image 2), the browser stopped working for streaming on Netflix. Widevine version 4.10.2209.1 (updated Sept 16, 2022).

I AM IRATE. I AM SIMPLY TRYING TO DELETE BOOKMARK, BOOKMARK FOLDERS AND THE "OTHER BOOKMARKS" FOLDER FROM FIREFOX AND THEY WILL NOT DELETE. HOW CAN SOMETHING SO SIMPLE BE THIS MUCH TROUBLE. THIS SHOULD BE SIMPLE. I AM USING A MAC PRO.
