since the latest update (17/1/23) Firefox seems to Hang then lockup then freeze then unfreeze when just browsing.

no special tabs open such as Youtube- just locks up on browsing 2 tabs plus- google search on 1 and facebook on 1 tab-closed the google search tab then scrolling through Facebook,froze after 3 scrolls of the wheel,locked up then unfroze

Hello! When I turn on firefox in my laptop it always opens in small window, so it is very annoying and it happens every time. I know that, when I reset firefox to fabric settings, problem will go away, but for a couple days only and again it will be. So do you have any idea, how to solve this problem once and for all? Thanks!

I use the following on youtube pages to allow the top search-bar section to be scrolled off the top of the page (otherwise it is fixed in place).

Recently, youtube added some kind of effect that is applied around the video window (a kind of blurring of the colors in the video that extends beyond the video border). I think it's only part of the "dark theme". This effect seems to be covering up the search bar with my modified style applied. The search bar appears and then fades out. How can I turn this effect off? Or at least make it so it doesn't cover up the search bar? I'd prefer to turn it off completely.

I love Firefox!!! But ..

After I updated I an no longer see the bottom 20% of the text in my All Bookmarks->Bookmarks toolbar where my toolbar only displays the text of the drop down name.

It seems to be a recurring issue where new versions really mess up the spacing in the drop down menus of the toolbar mostly (not this time).

My menus are just Perfect now .. although I'd love for the menus shown in the 'manage bookmarks' window to have Exactly the same spacing as the Firefox toolbar menus (the 'manage bookmarks' window has Much larger spacing and is a bit of a pain to use due to this).

I'm trying to perform the clean reinstall for Firefox on my computer. But, I see the instructions for the uninstall, Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:

   Windows: (Note: Check both folders.)
       C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
       C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox 

Being I'm not computer wizard I had trouble finding the location of such folder. But when I accessed my program list in my windows program list I see a program named Mozilla maintenance service. When I click on that I see a format/window to "uninstall C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Maintenance Service\." Is this the program/folder I need to uninstall to complete the proper instructions I need to perform a clean install? If so, when I delete it I then reinstall Firefox once again after the uninstall procedure? Is performing the uninstall procedure going to screw up my Firefox browser and my many bookmarks I have accumulated over the years? Can someone please help and explain? Thank you.

When using "send tab to device", the submenu previously showed all synced devices, in my case, more than 10 devices. Recently it only shows 4 devices and there is no way to access the other ones. Is this broken or is it a recent change? If so, can I revert the behavior with a preference?

Under "manage devices", I still see all of my synced devices, they just don't show up in the "send to device" submenu.

Well this happened after a Firefox Update with that i also suspect that using a User.js can aslo cause it would you like to look for the problem pls.

How does one migrate Firefox bookmarks and passwords from an old computer to a new computer?

There are four computers involved in this shuffle. Two new, one being retired, and one being repurposed. The only thing we haven't been able to figure out, is how to migrate Firefox's information from one computer to another one.

And, we've been working on this since Christmas. Edge, Brave, and Chrome took minutes. Combined.

But, transferring the information on Firefox has been impossible. Yes, I've read the help topics. No, they were not helpful. Firefox will not accept either the backup or export files from the old Firefox across multiple computers.

Yes, I have Sync. And, no, that hasn't worked either.

So, what is the next step?

For several weeks when I check for Firefox updates I get this message: "Updates disabled by your system administrator", but that's not true. How can I re-enable updates?

I have a laptop running Windows 10, plus the latest version of Firefox. The laptop has a built-in webcam. I have also connected an external webcam via USB. This second camera is better quality and preferred, I visit a web site. When I first activate the camera, I am presented with a dropdown of available cameras. The USB camera appears in the list. All is fine. I instruct Firefox to "allow" this camera to be used. (first image) However, after a short time, less than a second, the same dialog is shown again, this time without the USB camera. (second image) There have been no actual hardware changes. I can then click "allow" again and the *integrated* camera works, i.e. not the desired camera. So, two questions, really. First, what just happened? Did Firefox try to control the USB camera, find that it couldn't, and redisplay the dialog showing only the "controllable" option? Second, my desired endpoint here is for the web site to use the USB camera. How do I achieve this? I can easily do this with Chrome but I like Firefox. TIA.

Firefox keeps attempting to access a web site with an unwanted application. The site is mv.outbrain.com and my virus software keeps asking to block the site. The popup is now becoming a nuisance how do I stop it or delete the reference to it

Firefox saves files that I only wanted to open with another application.

I checked the previous solutions in the forum, but they did not work for me. (Windows 11) I changed in system> general > download , applications > the app to open that file type and it works, but besides this Firefox keeps saving the files in the default download folder.

I tried also about:config browser.download.improvements_to_download_panel to false. browser.download.start_downloads_in_tmp_dir change to true No change - still saving copies.

I have been trying to get a "media print" to format as I wish it to do so by using the widows and orphans CSS rules (among others). So far, regardless of the values assigned, the resulting print output still has widows and orphans.

Are those rules actually implemented in Firefox?

Firefox opens minimized and when I click the maximize it moves the window the first time and then the second time is when i get the full screen. If I open in troubleshooter mode, it opens in full screen.

Since firefox's latest update I am unable to access my online PNC banking account. PNC says that Firefox is no longer compatible with their online banking system. I'm using an IMAC computer. Current situation: I have 2 monitors. I have the option of auto hide taskbar in desktop mode turned on. On the primary monitor, when I maximise firefox window( not full screen, the button between close and minimise, looking like a square), and hover my cursor towards the bottom, my taskbar doesn't unhide. However when I unminimise( clicking the middle button on the top right again), the taskbar unhides correctly. Also to note, my secondary monitor works completely fine ie, when firefox is maximised I can unhide taskbar on hovering near the bottom.
