Hello! (FF 65.0.1) I recently tried to access the preferences page but I get an error of "Unresponsive Script" on "resource://gre/modules/Localization.jsm:444"

Starting in Safe Mode solved the issue so I opened FF again and disabled all extensions but not luck. So I tried disabling Hebrew (using Hebrew on my FF) on the languages tab and it solved the issue.

What can I do to keep using Hebrew and to be able to access the preferences?

Thanks!

I'm having problems with my dropdown notification and profile menus at this particular site:

https://splinternews.com/

The problem only started after the patch for v.66. The problem is that when I navigate to the site, the dropdown menus - which you get by clicking on the numbered icon or profile icon in the top right of your page after you log in - work sometimes and other times you can't. I makes the site mostly unusuable since you can't see your notifications. It's kind of a crap-shoot. I thought messing around with and toggling on and off "Performance" standards might work, and it appears that it does change things for a minute or two, but then it ceases to matter.

Do I need to downgrade? Where is the downgrade page?

I purchase a Microsoft surface pro 4 and I used firefox . somehow the tablet overheated to the point of melting the glue tape and releasing the lcd panel from the box and cooking the lcd panel to the shape of a turtle shell. now I have a surface pro 6 and when I use firefox even with minimal tabs the tablet overheats severely. this is ridiculous why does firefox cause the cpu to overclock and overheat and WORSE OF ALL THIS IS NON STOP

there is no doubt that firefox is the cause. I am using edge and chrome and the tablet is colder than my fridge.

why this cpu abuse.

Description of the problem is as follows: 1) I start a presentation on Google Meet 2) I choose to present one of my open windows (*not* entire screen) 3) window is being presented, just fine, 4) If I *minimize* the window being presented, the tab crashes. 5) the problem does not occur if I present the entire screen, rather it has to do with the window being presented becoming minimized.

Win10/drivers/Firefox all up to date - problem persists even in Firefox's Safe Mode.

So Firefox has been behaving quite unusually bad for me as of lately. It has been momentarily freezing/lagging whenever I view 1080 HD Youtube videos, or whenever I view a graphics intensive site, or sometimes even random close out a tab. And when whenever I view Images in a tab, after the crash happens, some times the grey background behind said image is ALL black and when I zoom in and zoom out, there is still a zoom in image glitch behind the real image when it's zoomed out.

And now whenever I view a site, namely one that is on a PJJ.cc server... A chatroom which I own seems to be glitching on Firefox and not on any other browser as far as I know. On the side panel, is supposed to have a background JPG which is a brick wallpaper, but it's all black... However, when I either shrink the browser, or switch over to another tab and back to that one, it appears loaded in.

I tried refreshing the browser, that didn't work. I tried uninstalling and doing a clean install... that didn't work either.

Can someone tell me WHAT is exactly going on and if this can be fixed, or if it will be fixed during the next update?

Windows 8.1, 8gb ram, core i5 3ghz

The browser window stays open. Multiple crash messages for firefox.exe upon loading a youtube video. Tried reinstalling. Tried rolling back to 65.0.1, tried a fresh new install, and tried updating flash player. The same exact error happens no matter what I try to fix it. Nothing else was installed and no system changes occurred, according to the computer's user.

Loaded up Firefox 65.0.2 on a different, identically setup computer, and it instantly works right on the same exact page that was causing it to crash on the other.

Windows System malware?

Sure could use help on this problem, which has surfaced for no apparent reason, unless it is happening deliberately through some kind of outside manipulation by a 3rd party.

Occassionally, but reproducable enough Firefox gets the wrong ip address for images that are loaded. It happens in firefox for mac/linux/windows and from multiple locations. It never happens in Chrome/Safari.

https://ov1.flamingtext.com/a2.html

Load the above page, if you see "CoolLogo.com" then the bug has shown itself. If it doesn't happen, reload.

What is crazy is that it only happens for these ov10 and ov11 machines, and they get the other's ip.

I know what you are thinking, it's my DNS or something odd about my setup. Either on the client or server. But I believe I've eliminated that possibility. I'm still suspicious that we are doing something wrong, but when I see the wrong IP address in the dev tool, I'm not sure where else to look.

geoipdns config (authorative dns is ns1/ns2/n3.registerbot.com which I control). +ov10-engine.flamingtext.com:51.79.78.56:1200 #ov10 +ov11-engine.flamingtext.com:51.79.78.58:1200 #ov11 (there are no other entries), and true for all three name servers.

confirmed with dig, nslookup and ping. from multiple locations around the world. with at least 5 different ISP's. There are no entries in my /etc/hosts. The ip address is always correct. It's only wrong in firefox.

Any ideas?

Cameron

Hi Firefox keeps on suspending when switching between different tabs (already opened or new tabs). When the FF is hang I can do nothing in the FF, but I can operate on the Windows (8.1) without issues.

I have already tried: - Put new Firefox portable - the same issue - Close other tabs - Disable EMET for Firefox - Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser set to True - Security.sandbox.content.level set to 2 - Disable add-ons plugins and start in safe mode

Nothing of above helps. I would appreciate If you could provide the solution. I attached Troubleshooting information.

Hi. Firefox keeps crashing when I try to download a file, since update version 59.0.2. I'm using windows 10 64 bit. If I restart the PC It runs fine for a while, but if I put the computer to sleep and use firefox after waking it up. Browsing is fine, but if I try to save an image or download a file it crashes. The file gets saved to the download location, but if I start firefox again. The download starts over, deleting the previously downloaded file.

With Firefox version 63, I have the problem on YouTube and Netflix, if I snap Firefox in a corner (with mouse or WIN + arrow keys) and switch a video to full screen, left and right is still a few pixels square. In addition, the taskbar is in the foreground (can not be fixed). [IMAGE 1]

If not left, right (top or bottom) snapped then it works, if Firefox is maximized too. The error occurs only in Firefox. Exit Explorer.exe and reboot PC does not work. Error exists since update on the first day of release (early October) - version has been withdrawn by MS,

I also installed the version on my laptop and have been updating ever since.

Apparently the error also occurs with some others: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/9lwzmm/fullscreen_broken_in_october_update/ but it has probably not changed.

Useful data: Windows version 1809 build 17763.134 Graphics driver up to date Firefox completely reinstalled (profile, cache & cookies deleted) even without add-ons started. 2 monitors On the laptop (also tested with 2 monitors) no problems.

I am thankful for every help. Error is really annoying.

In Firefox 60 when I go to delete individual cookies I can no longer use the "delete" key on the keyboard. This was always useful for quickly deleting any unwanted cookies, scroll using the arrow then delete. Now I have to ctrl+click, scroll and click remove. One mis-click and they all get unselected and you have to start again. How to re-enable the delete key?

On my Lenovo laptop, the left shift key doesn't work within Firefox.

Both shift keys work in other browsers, other programs, etc. The right shift key works within Firefox. When I try to use the left shift key together with another key, nothing happens. For example, a capital H just won't appear and if I type "Hi" it appears as just "i". When I plug in an external keyboard, both the right and left shift keys DO work

What I've tried so far: - Uninstalled and reinstalled FF - Tried FF in safe mode - Uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard from Device Manager in Windows - Restarted laptop

None of this works! Would appreciate suggestions.

While trying to make a purchase, I noticed that Firefox flagged the web page with insecure mixed content. However, the browser info contradicts the official documentation.

The browser states, "Information you submit could be viewed by others (like passwords, messages, credit cards, etc.). Your connection is not private and information you share with the site could be viewed by others."

Yet according to the documentation, the orange triangle icon indicates passive mixed content. It states, "Attackers may be able to manipulate parts of the page like displaying misleading or inappropriate content, but they should not be able to steal your personal data from the site."

This seems like a contradiction. The browser is telling us that our information could be compromised, while the documentation states that attackers should not be able to access personal data.

Can you please clarify which one is correct? Also, if the browser is misleading, it should be corrected in a future update. If the problem is with the documentation, it should be updated.

BTW, I noticed that the website had Google Analytics objects embedded. Could that be the source of the insecure HTTP content?

Can websites with passive mixed media content be trusted with sensitive data?

Hi,

I am photosensitive, and encounter a lot of safety and accessibility problems online. I have configured Firefox to try to block as many strobes and other dangers as possible, but I am not an expert, I haven't found enough solutions, and USERS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE EXPERTS TO USE THE WEB WITHOUT MIGRAINES AND/OR SEIZURES.

I have posted a bug about one of these problems. It was "resolved invalid" because I should report an "accessibility bug," instead of reporting an accessibility bug.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1472345\

I know there'sa an underlying refusal to make it possible to use the web without injury, because:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227886 is still WONTFIX

If there were a safe browser, I'd use it, but there isn't.
