I have firefox 50, I am aware that most of the website I visit can deliver videos with html5 (and that flash is used only if it is installed, this is 100% correct in the mobile world) so I would like to have firefox using html5 by default instead of flash (that I would like to remove asap). Thanks,

So I have just discovered that firefox has completely erased all of my passwords and names for log in, on everything. I don't know when it happened because most thing that I use are set to just remember me all the time without the need to log in again and again.

I managed to recover an email address and then to get synch to work as that wanted me to access email, therefor to need a password int eh first place to access y saved passwords, though upon synching it has none of my password information either. It's blank! This is so frustrating. I have been using firefox for years, and only used to have this problem if I'd migrated to a new P.C, even then I could write passwords and log in names down.

I have never told firefox to forget passwords or anything because I have so many all over the place that they are beyond my ability to physically remember, and yet they are all gone now.

So, how do I get them back? How do I access everything again?

FF50 on Win10 won't open local files, like file:///C:/Users/MN/Documents/something/index.html. It claims the file is inaccessible. No problem on macOS 10.12.1. This is VERY new behavior - I've never had this problem before. I run an application that produces web pages, and I need to preview them before uploading, so this is a MAJOR impediment. Chrome and Edge have no difficulty with this.

I believe this is being done for security reasons, but I need to be able to override it. I'll take the risk.

In my experience, the browser opens and plays the audio files on another tab instead of directly downloading. For a long time now, I've put up with this by right clicking and selecting "save audio as..." OR opening the page info and downloading the file from the list of medias; but there are some sites that doesn't allow this (like hive.co right now). Selecting "save ausio as..." again defaults to an .htm file, and selecting "all files" and downloading it as "file.mp3" only yields an unplayable file. As I've observed this problem occurs where the url doesn't end with the file format e.g. "site.com/file.mp3/lkjdflsjdflks" instead of "site.com/file.mp3". And no, removing that extra lkjdflsjdflks doesn't do anything.

There are similar problems posted here in the forums but all the solutions given didn't solve the problem. I've already set media.directshow.enabled, went to Applications and set all mp3 format sound files to "save file". Even restarted my pc.

I installed chrome and christ, the file downloaded with a single click (as it should always have been). There's got to be fix for this, I'm not switching to chrome as I've settle with firefox for a long time now, mind you. Also Third party addons is a big no.

I've tried EVERYTHING I can find on here to fix the lagging of my firefox. It mostly does it after I've had it up for few hours and/or when I have Raidoloyalty on. I get paid to listen to them so it not working really is pissing me off! Everything I've read and tired works for like MAYBE a month and then it's right back to doing it again. I am NOT going to constantly go back and do all that stuff EVERY month! I shouldn't HAVE to. Isn't there a way to fix this permanently? or at least fix it for 6 to 8 months or something?

Hi All

Question for you. When I try and download some types of files I get a pop up that asks me if I want to open the file or save the file. Most the time I want to save the file but it gets rather annoying having to then go into my downloads folder and move the file where I wanted to download it to.

Is there a way to manually set the download option to let me select the download location? Not talking a permanent change like this folder to that as each download is different and I might want the file stored elsewhere. So is there a way to set it so it asks me where I want the file saved rather then defaulted to the download folder in Win 10?

Thanks Dave

Used FF 50 since it's release and streaming has been perfect on every site I use. Yesterday I refreshed FF and this plug in will not install. I have read the reasons why but is there any work around at all perhaps in about:config? I still use Vista as I can't afford another system now but it (was) flawless. The thoughts of switching to Chrome or Opera is unsettling.

I'm trying to adjust the spacing of the lines in the bookmarks sidebar (in recent versions, the line height is excessive and increases the amount of scrolling needed). The plugin I tried worked, but caused Firefox to use way too much CPU on my Mac Book Pro.

So I'm trying to solve the problem with a userChrome.css file instead. I found this code elsewhere on the support site:

@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);

/* Tighten up bookmark tree in Fx25 */ .sidebar-placesTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row, .placesTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row { height: 1.3emÊ!important; border-width: 1pxÊ!important; } I created the file, made sure the file suffix is .css and not .txt, put it in the correct folder (Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/(my profile folder), but it's not having any effect.

Any idea what could be wrong? Alternatively, any ideas about adjusting the line spacing in the Bookmarks sidebar?

This problem is new to my use of firefox which I've used for many years. I've never had this problem before. I have version 50.0.1 of firefox. Normally when I want to log out of firefox I left-click on my account photo which can be seen in the screenshot that I've provided and select the logout link. This link no longer exits as can been seen in the screenshot. I am uncertain whether the screenshot is being uploaded as there is a thumper in the Uploaded images box below this dialogue. My screenshot is a 300x165 px .jpg.

I do not like the idea of being continually logged in to my gmail account, or any of my online accounts, for security reasons so please lend me a hand with this issue.
