No, I'm not talking about having to first tediously click on every single tab, bookmarking them, following the instruction to transfer your bookmark file, and them clicking on every bookmark to open your tabs again. I'm asking about a one-click way to save all my tabs and them upload them on a different computer, just as Firefox does on closing/opening. Thank you

Hi, Having accepted Microsoft's free upgrade to windows 10 from Windows 7 ultimate, I find my Virgin internet is running well below its previous speed. I have updated my Firefox browser to no effect. Any thoughts would be welcome. Would deleting and reinstalling Firefox be worth trying?

I have been facing this technical incident for a long time, I wish i could report it for the concerned party for resolution.

Microsoft Silverlight plugin is already installed but set to ask to activate in the adds-on & Plugin settings, Now once i need to use it shall notify on address bar corner by clicking activate Silverlight, but it only keeps as mentioned below & clicking the activate link is not working, the X button works one time then disappear, nothing happen only ESC keyboard button can remove.

I want to be able to have a file menu so I can select print etc. directly from my main display. One of the help programs said I have an menu upper left which is not displayed. I accidentally selected an ASK program which completely reset my Mozilla features and I cannot get them back. I have deleted ASK but it has permanently reset my Mozilla appearance. I deleted Mozilla and reinstalled it to no avail. I restored my whole computer to an earlier time.

I have the most current version of Adobe Flash and Firefox insists on constantly blocking it. I tried to disable the blocking in the advance settings however they don't allow you to make the choice to completely stop it.

I do NOT want to switch browsers but the is is frustrating. Thank you for any solutions.

All of a sudden, I am no longer directed to my homepage when opening Firefox. All I get is "The address isn't valid". Also, when I choose options, new window, new private window and Find, I also get the error "The address isn't valid".

I refreshed Firefox, which didn't help, disabled add-ons, checked for updates and opened in safe mode, none of which helped. I have run various malware programs and virus scans and came up empty from that end.

I was thinking of uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling, but I am afraid that I will loose my bookmarks, settings, preferences, etc. Any suggestions?

warum passiert das?Eine De- und Neu installation von Firefox brachte auch leider keinen Erfolg.

Firefox has begun opening very [very!] slowly, as well as crashing and freezing during use. This is happening on all of my three machines, two running Win 7 and one Win 8. I have tried refreshing and disabling hardware acceleration, but to no avail. Now it seems to freeze on opening and takes a minute or two even to become responsive, if at all. When I look at Task Manager during a freeze I see the Firefox process is using 35-50% of memory [i have 8GB, 12GB and 16GB] and up to 50% of processsor resources. All has been fine until the last couple of weeks. As an adjunct, in the last month I have noticed an almost permanent error message on the status bar - "Sync encountered an error while synchronising: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action."

So we have this helpdesk system at work called Remedy (I make no bones about it, it should be called Malady at least in the form my company has implemented it) but it's what we've got, I can't change that. I typically use Chrome to create changes in Remedy but I need to use Firefox to create work orders because Chrome doesn't handle Remedy's drop-down menus very well.

Now Firefox, which is my browser of choice in all other circumstances, doesn't work well with Remedy (I'm not convinced anything does) and when it updates, currently at version 39.xx, it stops working with Remedy ... something to do with Diffe-Hellman encryption. I can solve this by reinstalling v38.05 but then it updates and goes pear-shaped. So I uninstall and reinstall and it works again ... until it updates.

The solutions I have tried are as follows (each time preceded by an uninstall of version 39.x and reinstall of v38.05):

1. In Firefox Options / Advanced ensured that "Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)" was selected.

2. Custom install Firefox v 38.05 with no maintenance service (the above, Options / Advanced, settings appear to be maintained throughout the uninstall/reinstall).

3. Custom install Firefox v 38.05 with no maintenance service and make all executables and DLLs read only. Again all above is the same.

4. Custom install Firefox v 38.05 with no maintenance service, deleted the files maintenanceservice.exe and maintenanceservice_installer.exe from the Mozilla Firefox folder and renamed updater.exe to updater.old. Went into Help / About Firefox and deliberately actioned an update. This "installed" but, upon browser restart, brought up a dialog saying there was an issue (I can't remember the message). Allowed the browser to download the complete new version which forced a second reboot and error dialog which I then closed.

5. Restart Firefox having created a user.js file in profile folder containing: // turn off application updates: user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);

6. Checked about:config is disabled for automatic updating: app.update.auto - false app.update.enabled - false app.update.silent - false

That's it ... all of these absolutely fail to prevent Firefox updates and, as far as I can tell, I have done just about everything humanly possible to prevent Firefox updating apart from ditching it completely (which I definitely do not want to do) but there seems to be no way I can stop Firefox updating.

I'm sure it is BMC Remedy's "fault" but I can't change what the company does, I'm just a small cog in a large machine but I can (or should be able to) change stuff on my own system. I just can't when it comes to Firefox which, quite apart from being frustrating, makes no sense ... why would the Mozilla team create a product with options to stop updates that the application simply ignores?

On two laptops running Firefox 39.0 I cannot access the website tripadvisor.com. I only get the same text screen all the time where no links work, not html. Screen shot enclosed. This problem does not occur with Chrome or Internet Explorer.

Firefox won't play sounds at all, not youtube or tumblr or anything, while other browsers do, windows system play sounds just fine, it's just firefox that doesn't, and it happened suddenly. I tried to restart my laptop several times with no result.

Edit:

I checked for firefox updates manually and it installed the last one. I uninstalled then reinstalled the last v of adobe flash player.

Still has the no sound problem in firefox only.

Specific stations give me the error "Error loading player: No playable source found what Add on or setting do in need to change to get it working, internet is not clear about a solutions that is working for me?

I'm an American living in Brazil. When I want to visit an international company's USA website, my browser automatically adds .br (Brazil) after .com to take me to the company's Brazilian website. How do I stop this? Walmart is one (but NOT the only) example. If I type www.walmart.com, I am automatically redirected to www.walmart.com.br. Grrrr ~ so stupidly frustrating!

Hi I can't open some https websites like https://openssl.org/ I get this error message:

This only happens on my default profile and other profiles are OK. I started firefox in safe mode (Add-ons disabled) and the problem still exist. I'm using firefox 39.0.3 on windows 7 and I don't want to update to a newer version.

The little black house icon (the home icon) has disappeared from my toolbar. I always used to use this to quickly go back to start a new search. Why did it disappear and how do I get it back? Thanks for your help.

I run an educational centre and want the students to only be able to access one web site on one particular computer particular through Firefox. The computer runs Win XP. Use of this machine is sometimes unsupervised and I want them to only be able to access certain practice material on one specific site.

Every time I go onto Youtube to watch videos I can hardly even watch the videos. This glitchy mess usually happens with videos that aren't constantly in motion, like a very static slideshow. The glitch affects the video area only, and appears like 2/3 of the video has bee stretched like it's being smeared or is "raining pixels." In a few cases it's a lovely dithered effect that looks like a teenaged girl's first go with eyeshadow. For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE HELP. I am but a poor whelp that is being fed videos through an IV daily, and I cannot take my hits when the smack is so trashy.
