Why I can't I see this? or where can I find it?

Various Fire Fox sources say I need to set up an Firefox Syn account and that I can make a selection to do this in Firefox preferences. However this is no option for this available. There is a single option labeled sync but it doe does not synchronize my laptop to my account and none of my bookmarks etc are up to date.

Hey everyone.

I decided to make a fresh windows install, and when i installed firefox as allways i logged in.

Normally when i have logged in on a fresh installation of firefox it startes with the sync and getting all my old booksmarks, add-ons, passwords etc. but this time i didn't.

I thought that was weird but didn't pay mind to it, i thought i might have needed some time to sync. After 4 hours nothing has happended yet.

things i have tried:

• Pressing Sync now under my profile
• Pressing sync now under settings
• Going to help - more techinical information - Databasen Places - Confirm integrety

I have to many things i would like to recover... this have never been an issue before? Do anyone have some tips?

Hi, I lost firefox browser because of I setup new windows so i install again but unfortunately i cant get back my previous bookmarks settings and more. I am not sure what has happened but I had tons of passwords saved in my Mozilla browser. I have been using this since 2019 or 2020 and saved all of my passwords there. What happened is I was using my laptop and wasn't aware that the charger is not plugged in. While working my device turned off because of no battery. I connected the charger and restarted my device like normal. After I opened my browser(Mozilla Firefox) and ctrl+shift+t to open all the recently closed tabs, I was amazed to see that it restored many old sites like 1.5 month old websites instead of the one's which I was using. However, the recently closed one's were showing in the history. I opened the tabs from history that I needed and started using it normal. I have using Mozilla Firefox for good 2 years I never felt the need to remember any of my passwords. Everytime I have to create an account on any of the sites I just create a password once, at the time of sign up only and then click on SAVE PASSWORD so I don't have to remember it. I am guessing this is the normal practice that everyone does or may be a cast majority. I was doing my routine work, I tried to login to my account using the same way like you put in your email in the email section and then click on password section and select the user/email you want to use a password for and sign in. BUT TODAY WHEN I FOLLOWED THE SAME PROCEDURE, IT DOESN'T SHOW ME ANY SAVED PASSWORD WHICH WAS QUITE SURPRISING TO ME. I OPENED THE PASSWORD MENU FROM THE TOP RIGHT AND I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THERE WE ZERO, LITERALLY ZERO SAVED PASSWORDS. I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS BECAUSE THOSE WERE SO MANY PASSWORDS LIKE SERIOUSLY SO MANY.

I had to reset my computer.

I had Firefox sync on it and in the past all I’ve had to do is login and it restores history bookmarks and setting when I install it on a new or reset device

It’s not doing it this time, any advice?

I am trying to create a new Firefox account with it's own email to be separate from this Firefox account I am posting from. However, every time I try to follow the "sign up" buttons I get redirected to the login page where I enter what I want as the new account info and receive a "Primary email account required for sign in" The email I'm trying to use for my new account is NOT registered with Firefox and I am using a freshly installed version of the browser on a new PC so no extensions are interfering.

Is there a way in Firefox to have quicker access to saved logins than through the menu structure? The menus are four layers deep, which is frustrating as it is difficult to remember the route when only using the feature occasionally. Some websites don't respect the Firefox Password Manager, so it sometimes becomes necessary to manually find the credentials.

Is there any way to create a bookmark to the saved login section?

Is there perhaps an add-on?

After a reinstallation of FIREFOX, it failed to login to sync with Firefox. My account and password input are correct. And I can login to my accout with Chrome (https://accounts.firefox.com/).

my OS: ubuntu 18.04 firefox version: 100.0.2

My system disk failed, so I had to restore it from pretty old backup, with old Firefox version installed and old profile data. Now I want to start Firefox and reopen all my recent tabs from Firefox Sync, but not from my local (old) profile. How should I proceed?

Hi , My main machine is a personal windows laptop. Firefox sync works fine and syncs all things including "all" my installed extensions . recently company issues me a macbook and on it when i install firefox and login my account for sync it syncs other things like bookmarks but does not sync all my extensions only a few of them.

I already tried multiple things like sync delibrately from windows and then pressing sync on mac or reinstalling firefox on mac . but its the same issue.

Hi, Some files, say PNG files, always download immediately. Other files ask where to be saved. In my settings, I only have about 4-6 entries, but PNG for example is not there. I deleted the handlers file and restarted. Same issue. The only thing I can think of is the fact that I'm using an account which syncs across 2-3 devices. How can I fix this issue?

i have re-install new windows and download fresh firefox and sign-in when i sync my account i didn't find any data (passwords , bookmarks , history , etc ... ) i found my firefox account as new

the other day my Samsung Galaxy S21+ died on me so I was forced to re-startup my old Galaxy S10+.. and I tried to sync the my new data on my Desktop and Firefox cloud to my phone...

BUT! it synced my old data a year old data from my phone to my desktop... destroying all my changes over the past year.. THANK YOU BACKUPS! saved the day... Firefox account need the ability to clear the stored Firefox data in the cloud to prevent this from happening again.. and I found similar questions that pointed to deleting my whole account and starting fresh.. THAT IS AN INSANE IDEA... no thx.. I have too much to lose...

Following direction on Help Page - Trying to sync tabs, bookmarks etc from one laptop to another. In settings, devices are said to be logged in and sync set to sync pretty much everything. Clicking the menu top right - only shows my email @ the top, then New Tab etc - but nothing about "Sync Now" or "Sign In" What am I missing? TIA, Jean

Hi - I'm signed into firefox sync on two different computers, both running Ubuntu 20.04. I can tell that they're connected to the same account because I can see the other computer in the list for "Send tab to device".

However, the bookmarks aren't syncing - one computer has the full set, the other (newly set up) computer still has the default bookmarks.

When I check `about:sync-log`, I see these lines:

That is, it seems to think that bookmark syncing is disabled - however, I have bookmark syncing enabled, as you can see in the attached screenshot.

I’ve not had much success with my online searches to learn the details about what takes place when Firefox syncs browser information across devices. To keep things simple, assume I interested only in syncing bookmarks and staying within the Firefox environment, i.e., no syncing to another browser. Please note that I am NOT asking for help in setting up Sync on different devices or in how to turn Sync on and off. Rather I am seeking help to understand what “sync” means, that is, the details of the sort of information transfers that take place between individual devices and the Firefox Sync server.

Here’s what I currently understand. After signing in to my Firefox account on Device 1, setting up syncing on that device, specifying that I want only bookmarks to be synced, and turning syncing on, the set of bookmarks on Device 1 is sent to be stored on a Firefox server. After that, whenever one is signed in to the Firefox account on Device 1 and syncing is turned on, any changes to the bookmarks on Device 1 will "automatically" (but I don't know how quickly) end up being reflected in the set of bookmarks stored on the server. Fine so far.

In addition to Device 1 I have another device, Device 2 which has not been set up for Firefox Sync. It has its own set of bookmarks. Some of them are also on Device 1, some are not. I sign into my Firefox account on Device 2 and set up syncing on it. I follow the steps for doing this in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer, “Connect additional devices to Sync.” I then click Sync Now. OK, now what happens?

1A. Do the bookmarks in Device 2 get added to the bookmarks stored in the Firefox Sync server? 1B. Do the bookmarks NOT in Device 2 get deleted from the bookmarks stored in the Firefox Sync server?

OR

2A. Do the bookmarks stored in the Firefox Sync server get added to the bookmarks in Device 2? 2B. Do the bookmarks NOT stored in the Firefox Sync server get deleted from the bookmarks in Device 2?

After whatever transfers of bookmark between Device 2 and the Firefox Sync server take place, and assuming that I’m still signed in to my Firefox account on Device 1 and that syncing on that device is still turned on, what sort of transfers of bookmarks takes place between the new set of bookmarks stored in the Firefox Sync server and the set of bookmarks already on Device 1?

3A. Do the bookmarks then present in the Firefox Sync server get added to the bookmarks in Device 1? 3B. Do the bookmarks no longer in the Firefox Sync server get deleted from the bookmarks in Device 1?

Finally, what happens to the set of bookmarks in Device 1 and Device 2 if I’m simultaneously signed in to my Firefox account, syncing is turned on in both Devices 1 and 2, and a bookmark is a) added to either device OR b) deleted from either device?

I’m sorry this message is so long, but I’ve wanted to be clear about the things I don’t understand in regard to Firefox Sync. I’d really appreciate what anyone can say to help me clarify these points. Thanks so much.
