Attempting to attach any file crashes the browser - Version 116.0.2 (64-bit)

Any website. File explorer window doesn't even appear. It just crashes instantly.

I went to about:config and set my privacy.globalprivacycontrol values to all True. Yet, when I go https://globalprivacycontrol.org/, the website states that the GPC signal is not detected. Is any other action required? I am using Firefox v16.0.2 on a Mac computer running Ventura 13.5.

Since the FF update to 116.0.2 (64-bit) I am unable to save images from a very specific part of Ancestry.com. The database is the U.S., School Yearbooks, 1900-2016. All of the other image databases on Ancestry download without issue, and I am able to download the Yearbook images using Edge, so this appears to be a Firefox issue, especially as it began immediately following the most recent update.

The Yearbook images do differ from the others in that you are given an option to download two images as a zip file, or just a single image, but neither option results in the Save As dialogue appearing, and the images do not download anywhere.

This is a very strange issue, but maybe someone familiar with the most recent update could have some insight as to what has been changed that might have this impact.

Windows 11 Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.2134), if that makes any difference.

Running Windows 11 on a Dell XPS 8930. Internet download speed is 100Mb/sec. With every update of Firefox it seems to take longer and longer to launch Firefox and load open windows and tabs. Several minutes of the back and forth ball on each tab. I can launch Chrome and its windows and tabs load almost immediately. What can I do to improve Firefox performance, short of abandoning it?

As you can see from the screenshot I don't have the new tab button (+), I've seen other users had the same problem in the past and the solution was restoring it from the customization page, but I can't find it there neither.

I reinstall my windows 11 yesterday and since I cannot log in office. I go through the identification process, then once done I am back to the sign in page.

On chatGPT, when I go to login, I got the error message "We ran into an issue while signing you in, please take a break and try again soon."

Both websites were working fine last week. Also on the same computer I can access these websites using chrome. I tried to clear the cache and the cookies, disable extensions (ublock + cuberghotVPN), lowering security options like disable DNS security and disable tracking security, I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but I can't fix this issue.

I am a bit out of ideas to try. Anything else I can do to get access back to these websites?

While Firefox is loading long, list-type pages, the scrollbar naturally expands in length. I was used to grabbing the scrollbar thumb, pulling it to the bottom (out of browser focus,) triggering further page-loading, and being able to repeat this by merely jiggling the mouse after each load.

Since the latest release (116.0.?), my mouse loses focus on the thumb on each reload, and I have to re-click on the thumb in order to drag down to force the next reload.

This has radically slowed down some of my regular web activities.

Is it something that can be (re)configured on my end?

when I view a stock quote in Google Finance If I move my Windows cursor into the price chart and move the chart cursor to a new date or time the tab will hang. I can no longer move the chart cursor. Reloading the tab will no longer work. I have to delete the tab and then use History to reload it. There is no problem as long as I keep the Windows cursor out of the stock chart area.

I am running Windows 11 up to date and Firefox 116.02. This has been a problem for a long time.

Prior to Firefox 116, I could have the normal scrollbar up and down buttons showing by making:

widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.allow-buttons True

But now it seems to have no effect. This is under Linux/Mint/Cinnamon. Also, now long-pressing is doing smooth scrolling (I never want smooth scrolling anywhere) and can't find a way to stop that.

Seems like it is always a fight retaining usable scrollbars in Firefox that do not hide, do not change size on mouse-over, do not "warp" on left click, do warp on center click, have a thumb that shows page size, have a background that is not white, and are not microscopic in size! Just call me "traditional"  :)

Is there any way to limit the storage space in cache2 taken by a particular extension? The Ghostery extension has nearly a gigabyte of storage taken up there on my system and shows no signs of slowing down.

I already have an overall limit on firefox's cache storage allowance. The problem is it's being monopolized by this extension.

Google sponsored links (those on top of a Google search for a product) not working in Firefox, works in Chrome and Edge. The example link below uses googleadservices.com, which appears to be the problem. When trying to load that link, Firefox does nothing. The same link plugged into either Chrome or Edge works fine. This is a REAL PITA!

YouTube videos on Firefox getting slower and jerky. After refreshing Firefox (Settings -> Help -> More troubleshooting information -> Refresh Firefox), it is OK, but only for a short while. Then the problem starts again. Same YouTube videos are running fine with Chrome at the same time.

Hi! I just moved over to Firefox from a different browser, and there this minor thing that I noticed. Whenever I put a video on full screen, it looks like it alters the aspect ratio of my screen? Like there are black bars at the left and right of my screen instead of it filled all the way. Its very minor but it bugs me every time. Is there a way to fix this or not? Thank you!

My Firefox is having some problems relating to audio.

If I open a YouTube video, the image will play but there's no sound, on Twitter also, and so on. On YouTube Music the player won't even start, giving the error "An error occurred. Please try again later." I noticed that the stereo icon that shows up in the tab, which allow you to mute the tab, won't show up when I'm playing a video on YouTube, Twitter, Vimeo, and so on.

Only Firefox has no sound, it's not muted in the Volume Mixer, neither in the app volume settings in Windows. I've followed everything suggested here here and here.

I think the problems may have started after I reinstalled my graphic card driver, but I'm not sure since I don't use this computer very often. I have a Windows 10 and my graphic card is a Nvidia GT 630, and the driver version is 474.44.

Some of the scripts are not loading or working properly, like clicking boxes and notifications on some sites. Most recently this happened on the New Statesman website, I doubt they haven't optimized their site for Firefox. Previously I encountered this on Gerogetown University's Management System platform, which according to IT should be fine with Firefox. I removed all the extensions, cleared the cache and cookies, tried troubleshooting mode, even reinstalled Firefox to no avail. I accept all cookies. Settings are default. The issue is specific to Firefox, Edge works fine. Please help, I don't want to migrate back to Edge.

I am currently facing an issue where videos on websites other than YouTube are not playing. This problem is occurring on browsers like Firefox, Brave, and Opera, but interestingly, videos are working fine on Chrome. I have tried various solutions over the past 2 years, including removing extensions, using private mode, installing web media extensions and codec packs, but nothing has resolved the problem. i am facing issue with high CPU usage on firefox in completely different process other as visible in task manager than my actual process for firefox. is there something wrong with firefox or my system.

This separate process uses more than 60% of my CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 4600). If I close that process in the task manager nothing happens to my current firefox process and i can use firefox normally.

But everytime this separate process starts my system fans ramp up and CPU temps peaks to 70 degrees celsius. and i have to end that process to make it run normally. Thats a quite annoying process to do every time.

I am able to recreate this separate process by:

1. 1. Plug my system for charging
2. 2. I was working offline and connect to internet

both the times the separate process automatically starts and uses very high amount of CPU. I even left my system for 2 hours to keep that process running and complete whatever it was doing. but nothing happend. It continued to run for 2 hours also.

Please find a solution for this. I have already tried solutions provided in the forum:

• Restarting firefox
• Refreshing Firefox
• Enabling hardware accleration
• Clearing some user profile data
• Completely uninstalling firefox and deleting the residual files then reinstalling etc.

but nothing worked.

Hey, since 2 months firefox started crashing when a video comes to the end. I tried it in troubleshoot mode skipped to min 10:45/10:50 and played. after this 5 sec it just crashed. I noticed it on youtube but tried it on other players and it also happened. Today I also started a video on a other website and it crashed but not when starting youtube videos.
