I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Every time I launch Firefox it creates 12-13 instances of Firefox along with one each for Chrome and Console.

I don't need that many instances. Typically I have no more than 3-4 tabs open.

Is there a Configuration setting that I can change to reduce the number of instances to 5 and greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to launch.

I am running Windows 10 Pro V21H2 at current update level. I have a custom made tower with 512GB SSD and a Core2 Duo processing running at 2.93 GHz with 8 GB Ram. Firefox is V17.0.1.

I have some Bookmarks on my laptop. I have some of these Bookmarks (Not all) on my tablet, plus some other Bookmarks.

If I sync them, which direction does the sync work in? Will all my Bookmarks on my laptop now appear on my tablet (Which I do not want to happen)? Will all my Bookmarks on my tablet now appear on my laptop (Which I do want)? Will I end up with two copies of most Bookmarks, because all my laptop Bookmarks are transfered to my tablet, plus all my tablet Bookmarks are transfered to my laptop?

I cannot find any explanatioin of what Sync actually does.

I've been using firefox desktop pretty much since its inception. Despite numerous updates, for well over a year it has been auto scrolling when on facebook and I have tried every fix it to no avail (I'm highly computer literate and to me, this is now nuts). Note. My android mobile has never done it. I am at the end of my tether and am now looking at moving to another browser due to the frustration. I've gone through all the forums and note there are hundreds (if not thousands) of people with the same problem. Why can you not fix this and is there a fix? After re-starting my iMac the wrong characters appear for non-letter characters such as punctuation, which you can see in the screenshot from the pocket recommendations on the home page, where the issue doesn't appear too bad, but in practice trying to use any site with form inputs asking for email addresses etc. is impossible.

This has happened in the past and I have somehow been able to fix it, but this time nothing I've done helps. (It's only ever Firefox that is affected.)

I have deleted the app and re-installed it. I have cleared cache and cookies. I have cleared all browser history etc. I have tried changing fonts from the defaults. I'm not sure there are any other troubleshooting steps I can take.

I'm using FF developer edition, current version (just re-installed it, but it is always up-to-date, and this has been happening for a year or two). MacOS 12.6.3.

I have a problem with facebook.com, and scrolling at this site. With my add-ons from firefox, when I scrolling facebook.com, my lenovo ideapad have black. Then I must restart system. Today try scrolling facebook on microsoft edge, and I don't have any problems. Then I try with my firefox, without any add-ons, and problem fixed. Did any add-ons doing problems with scrolling facebook? Once again the failure of Firefox to work with comment sections of many websites has reared its head in the latest update of Firefox. I'm using Windows 11 with latest updates. This occurred suddenly in the middle of commenting. Other web browser are OK. These constant recurring problems with Firefox are getting tiresome and although I like the browser and am comfortable using it, I'm seriously considering abandoning it for these annoyances.

The problem today is with the CA FTB website https://webapp.ftb.ca.gov/MyFTBAccess/Login/AccessYourAccount, I reset the firefox security setting to standard and emptied the cookies and cache. Didn't help. Edge has no problem with the site. There have been other sites with problems lately too such as the login to Vanguard online accounts which logs in, but some features on the site don't work. I don't like Edge, but I'm having to use it too often lately. I believe these problems came up within the last few months. Do you need any further information with which to troubleshoot?

About every month or so Firefox decides to delete my login info and i have to relog everywhere again.

While this is not a critical issue, its a very annoying one.

My cookie settings are on standard, and the "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" square is unticked. I use Dashlane for my passwords but ive used it for a long time before on mozilla and other browsers and i've never had issues with it.

I need to see every website that has been visited on Firefox from my account from Sept 2022 to Oct 2023. Please advise how I would go about doing this.

When using GMX and trying to open the Cloud screens I keep getting a Warning screen and the page won't open and then I am logged out of my acct. I have attached a pic of the screen print as I cannot seem to add the screen print in the system. I need help to correct this issue.

Space bar does not function on Huffpost comment section. Sometimes the whole page just jumps either to the top of the page or to the bottom, Weird. Another point, why does Firefox prompt a new update almost every second day. My PC is safe from Malware and my Firewall and paid for VPN is one of the 3 best available. So please don't tell me there could be another reason for this problem about the Space bar button. The Space bar functions perfectly on Windows 10 Edge as well. Even tried it temporarily on Vivaldi. Works fine there too. I moved over to Brave Browser and I have no problem there at all. Functions perfectly. Until Firefox fixes that problem, I have no need to use the Firefox Browser with it's constant annoying updates.

So, I've noticed that if I open a new tab while in full screen (ex: watching a youtube video in full screen) it doesn't automatically select the search bar for me to type in. I know this is a very minor problem, but it really bugs me. Can this be changed from preferences or any other way? Thanks in Advance

Edit: I copied this issue from someone who already raised because this exact thing annoys me too even if it's small one. Is there any solution to this problem?

Firefox is constantly hanging and trying to load. I have done several re installs and everything else to correct this problem but it still exists.

For the past month or so, I've been experiencing frequent Firefox crashes.

They most often happen when I've just opened a page in a new tab, it's painted, and I make the first input trying to interact with it: all tabs will stay rendered and viewable, but otherwise unresponsive. But now they're also happening when Firefox is in the background. The frequency is about once or twice per day, with heavy use.

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (jammy) with all packages up to date, the linux-oem-22.04 kernel package (currently 5.17.0-1025-oem), and Firefox installed via snap. The crash reports contain full details, of course, but the only thing I can think of that's especially "unusual" is that the 1Password extension has been misbehaving for a while (but it's been since long before these crashes began).

My system has 64GB of RAM, which is rarely more than 15% in use.

google calendars does not work well on Firefox. the headings become garbled and print over themselves. this problem does not occur on chrome . it doesn't doesn't seem that there are any settings that make any sense or come close to a change. So far my search has not brought up any answer or even a similar question. Maybe I'm looking wrong but any help would be greatly appreciated. vb
