I bought this laptop because it had Windows 10 so I could download firefox, The laptop immediately updated to Windows 11, no way to stop it. I am locked out of my microsoft account, have been for years. How do I get firefox downloaded ?

Hi New Dell Inspiron 15-3000, installed Firefox 100 in new laptop, transfered all files via LAN from old laptop All websites work ok except 2 of the 4 banking websites I use. One site will not accept my login the other will open after putting in my login twice Have gone to "troubleshoot mode" and both sites work , go back to "normal" and they do not work Any clues how to fix this, not to technical please I am not a computer whizz and all children have left home Many thanks Ron Managh

I am using pihole and i've learned that firefox ignores it.

Supposedly, because it has DNS OVER HTTPS enabled by default.

So i disabled it, and it still doesn't work ( ignores DNS settings and loads websites that are blacklisted in my pihole - only firefox does this, chrome and edge dont have this problem )

I've set it to my pihole server - and it still works.

I've set it to CUSTOM and put in a 0.0.0.0 as IP and IT STILL WORKS

how???

i am just trying to use pihole but i can't comprehend why would a browser ignore all these settings ...

how do i make it work?

I'm not exactly sure what this is called. Maybe it's in the cache, but I don't know. One of the fastest timesavers I have is that I use the Firefox url feature that makes suggestions as soon as I start typing a url. I pull up dozens, possibly hundreds of articles that I refer to frequently this way, so that I don't have to bother bookmarking them. I don't clear the cache, to keep these references from disappearing. I have to move computers now. My longtime mac is not working well anymore. Is there any way to bring these url suggestions with me when I migrate? Thank you.

This is a very bizarre problem. Basically I can't install any Firefox addon neither on my desktop OR may laptop. I noticed this issue just couple of days ago. When I try to install any addon normally, from a link, it tells me that the addon can't be installed because the file is corrupt. Tried several addons, all same problem. On my desktop AND on my laptop. On my desktop I'm running ver. 103, but on my laptop I still had ver. 102.1, so there is no Firefox update issue. When I try to install addon from xpi file, it tells me that I have no permission to open that file and that's it. I tried to take ownership of that file but it didn't solve the issue I tried to disable my AV program, but it didn't do anything. On my laptop, I tried to refresh FF, no help. I tried to start FF in safe mode, same problem. I created new profile, same issue. Eventually, I totally uninstalled FF, removing program itself, removing Appdata folder and even registry entry. Installed fresh copy of FF, same problem exists. Then, I noticed one thing. When I tried to sync fresh FF installation on my laptop, it synced everything, EXCEPT for addons. So, something is preventing me doing anything regarding addons. Themes install just fine. I've struggling with this problem since yesterday and at this point I totally ran out of any fresh ideas how to solve this issue, thus posting here. I'll appreciate any fresh idea as what to do next. The bar that contained those items disappeared in Firefox after the update to 110 I believe. I don't know how to get it back, I've searched settings. The bookmarks and all the data appear to still be there. It's been there since, I think, version .9 something. I updated to windows 10 from windows 7 about 3 months back. I noticed the change immediately. I don't even know what the bar is called. I still have my windows 7 machine since I am still trying to resolve problem with windows 10 and I'm even thinking of going back to window 7. It did the update to 109 without a problem.

HELP!!

It is probably something simple by windows is more a game machine to me. I learned computers on a GE-645 to give you an idea of how old I am.

Firefox was lagging everywhere: scrolling, switching folders in bookmarks, switching windows, switching tabs, opening settings, scrolling in settings...just everywhere. So I tried downgrading to v. 113. After downgrading via the ling in settings it still showed v. 114. I uninstalled firefox entirely and downloaded the loader for v 112. I installed it and it went thru whole install process to the point of asking to close and start Firefox. It didn't start. When I clicked on the icon it gave me a prompt that it didn't point to anything and asked if I wanted to delete it. I looked in program files folder but didn't find a folder for Firefox or Mozilla. I installed the developer edition and it worked but I don't want dark dev ed. Please help!

is it possible to make this opened site/s bar smaller,less wilde ,see my screenshot, this one by : nieuw tabblad like using fonts in about:config. the internet bar i find ok.

For the past week, my browser does not auto-update. I have to download the update and re-download the browser.

I went into the settings and found the update section and when I clicked "Check for Updates", it kept saying "failed to check for updates". I tried with my proxy-settings on with VPN on, proxy-settings on with VPN off, proxy-settings off with VPN on, proxy-settings on, with VPN off.

This is in my personal laptop, where I am the only and admin profile.

My Firefox used to to auto-update but now it keeps saying I need to download the update, but my browser can't even tell if I have the most current version or not.

For some reason, Firefox just stopped working yesterday. The only way I could get it to work again was to uninstall and reinstall (the refresh option did not work). However, now I've lost all my bookmarks, passwords and customization. I don't care about the customization and losing the bookmarks is an annoyance, but I'd REALLY like to get my passwords back. The installation created a folder of Old Firefox data, but when I open the folders that I think might be helpful, like bookmarkbackups, they are empty. Is there anywhere else I can look where these might have been saved? I did not have a Mozilla account so no profile until now which I just set up in order to access the forum. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello, I have downloaded Firefox installer but I couldn't install it. It's giving issue that you need to start over but when i start over again it gives the same issue. I have some pending work to do on my blog so I nee to install it ASAP. How can i fix it? Please help me. Thanks

I’m locked out of all of my accounts because I can’t remember my firefox password and all records of it were lost to a corrupted drive. If I can’t access my 100s of accounts I’ve had for years because of firefox, I’m going to do something rash. I literally can’t even access my fucking email to prove it was me because I wanted to uP mY sEcUrItY and use randomly generated passwords. Help and help fast because I am sick with anger right now.

I have a slight problem. I'm currently using Firefox 116.0.3 and it seems that it can't update. The automatic updating will run, and then it will fail (this is all the time when using Firefox). It will recommend me to download the newest version from the website, but then the CDN will and I will be presented with the "connection was reset" error. This happens both on my Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines. Both are running Firefox 116.0.3.

Funnily enough I tried to see if I could download the newest version on Edge (Chromium), which it could but the version I got from the website was the same version I have now. I wonder if this is something to do with my region as I'm based in China and I'm aware that some software can have...problems.

Also, when trying to download version 122.0, it is fantastically slow and will often fail to complete.

Is there anything that could be suggested as I really don't want to use Edge.
