Firefox does not automatically create a new empty window on startup. Neither starting from "applications" nor clicking icon in the dock

Instead once has to right click the icon then click "New Window"

Why is it that the people who "improve" products are always dickering with the look and feel to no benefit to the user? Why suddenly does a new empty window not open? Fantastic job Mozilla. It takes me an hour or so to figure out how to even get a window with the default web page URL and then I have to perform forever after three clicks instead on one.

I have a suggestion. The next time you think about changing the look and feel: DON'T. It is just that simple. DON'T.

Hi, I like to know how to transfer addresses to bookmark toolbars? I have the copy all addresses of bookmarks in the previous firefox. I transferred all, but they are in one bookmark, not in toolbars, or other bookmarks. I like to set the same as the previous bookmarks. Thank you so much for your help, Miyabi

While I was browsing an open tab I moved my cursor over to the Bookmarks icon and the cursor automatically enlarged itself. I expect the cursor to remain at its normal size when I hover over the bookmarks icon but instead it became larger. I cannot reproduce the error unfortunately.

Should I use DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials with Mozilla/Firefox? Would all of the Firefox features work the same or would DuckDuckgo replace Firefox features? If both worked together it would seem to be the best option. I would greatly appreciate some input on this.

M2 MacBook Air running macOS Ventura. When I open a website which wants access to my camera I am asked if I want to allow this. I say "Allow", and the light next to the builtin webcam turns green, but I see nothing in the camera sub-window on the webpage which was granted access. No error message, just no camera video is shown by the webpage. In the menu bar is a camera icon which I can click on and confirms I have "Allowed" camera access. Setting / Privacy / Permissions / Autoplay is set to Block Audio. I have verified the camera works with other apps (Photo Booth). How can I diagnose this?

This started recently, after I installed the latest upgrade of Firefox and the video downloader. Not happening on Safari or DuckDuckGo. I suspect they have spotted I am using Firefox and are lying about the connection problem. Any suggestions welcome. thanks!

Recently, when first logging into Facebook, the entries in my feed will just sit there and refresh for a while before finally settling in and stopping. Then when I start scrolling, I can only go so far and it starts doing it again. Rather peculiar action. Something to do with auto refresh? I don't encounter the issue when using Safari or Opera. Appreciate anything on this issue.

Everyone says my audio sounds distorted in google video chat. I had been using it for months without issue on Firefox, and then I got a new Apple computer and people started to tell me I had this issue. In order to isolate the issue I tried going on Teams Video chat and Zoom video chat and people said my audio sounded fine there. Then I opened Google Video Chat in Google Chrome and people said my audio sounded fine there too. Lately, it's only when I'm on Firefox trying to use Google Video Chat (aka Google Meet) to video chat and people say my audio sounds way too distorted to hear what I'm saying. I restarted my computer, I even checked for the latest browser, which is up to date, I can't figure out how to fix this. Sounds like a firefox issue. Any ideas?

Macbook Air, Sonoma 14.1.2, second monitor connected via hdmi. This oval purple icon showing a person in front of a screen suddenly appeared in and behind upper left hand corner of window, and is now in all my windows. (see attached image)

I'm reaching out because I've encountered an issue while trying to install an add-on on Gmail, and I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out. The issue happens with any add-on, but the one I wanted to install is (https://workspace.google.com/u/0/marketplace/app/todoist_for_gmail/815972520808)

When trying to install an add-on, I get directed through to give the add-on permissions and I get thrown to the following error 400 each time (see screenshots). I've already tried a few troubleshooting steps, such as clearing my browser cache and cookies, disabling other add-ons/extensions, and even restarting my browser, but unfortunately, none of these actions have resolved the issue.

I'm sure this problem is a more general issue with Firefox. I reached out go Google and they could not help and the installation was successful on Chrome. I also tried installing other add-ons and a similar problem occurs. If anyone else has experienced a similar problem or has any suggestions for troubleshooting steps I can try, I would greatly appreciate your insights.

Additionally, if there's any specific information or logs I should provide to help diagnose the issue further, please let me know, and I'll do my best to provide whatever is needed.

I would like to use the Firefox Container tabs. I understand how they group tabs in different catagories keeping cookies separate and making your browsing more private. I use an add-on tool that groups tabs so that I can open an entire set of tools at once. Can I use the Firefox Container tabs in a similar way? I'd like to be able to select one container and have all of the tabs in that container open at once.

Basically, I have three different profiles in my Firefox with three different app icons, but only one of has notifications.

For some odd reason, the MacOS notification center is showing the wrong profile. It's like only one of the profiles is visible, or working. I tried resetting it, which is apples way of "deleting" it, but Firefox keeps forcing that particular profile and not my main one.

When browsing in Firefox and I'm trying to select buttons to click, Firefox often now shows me a menu instead of allowing me to click. I have to migrate away from the button elsewhere on the page a few times and then get back to the button. Sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn't. Why is it doing this now?

I have not updated firefox in a while, but recently got an error on netflix that my browser was no longer compatible and to update

So I updated to the latest version of firefox - 122.01 (64-bit) but now I have a new problem. I cannot watch anything on netflix or hulu (though I can on max for some reason).

Each time I try to play anything on netflix I get a white screen on firefox and it automatically takes me back to the sign in page of netflix. Each time I try to play anything on hulu it plays BUT I cannot see the video. I can hear it but the actual video isn't shown, the controls are there but I can only see the the menu/other things to watch of hulu (picture attached) though I can't actually click on any of the other shows

I do not have this problem on chrome but firefox is my main browser, can i get any assitance Things I have already tried: I completely cleared my history & cache after signing out of everything (did this twice). Turned off computer, signed back in but still have this issue

I love pocket but it is infuriating. I do something and a pocket page suddenly comes up with like 10 pictures and click links to articles. (And I don't know what I did to get this pocket page to come up. It happens when I do something online and I can't replicate it! It's always by accident. I google pocket and login but ti's not the same page with the same articles.) I see several articles I would like to read. I click on one and at least I can usually read that one, but then I go back and can't find the other articles I wanted to read and I cant get back to the same page displaying the articles. Now there are different articles! Today I clicked on one I wanted to read, was told to log in, which I did, then it took me to a pocket page which didn't have the article i wanted, and I cant find it. I also wanted to read another article and can't go back to find it either. This is infuriating! Can anyone help? And I doin't even know how to get back here to find your answer unless it goes to my email chaplaindon2000@gmail.com help!

Currently, there appears to be only one option to tell Firefox to open a given site in a specific container; that is, from the URL bar, to the right.

Would it make sense to have this configuration option presented in "edit bookmark" and/or in a right-click pulldown menu "Always open in this container"?

When I scroll through Facebook, often if there are two posts with photos, the browser seems to jump back and forth between the two images making it impossible to see or read either. My release is 123.0 and it was loaded when I needed to restore my system after a drive upgrade about 10 days ago.
