I very often have to visit a (company internal) webpage where the url is something like

        https://internal.company.com/blabla/whatever?func=test&id=XXXXX

where XXXX is changing (it's a document identifier)

Now I'd like to be able to reduce this to something like "a XXXXX" and to have firefox to automatically expand this to the full link. It's a bit like a custom search with a keyword. Is this easily possible?

Today firefox prompted me to upgrade to the latest version, i upgraded to 75.0, then a problem began with youtube. whenever i hover the mouse over the video window the progress bar comes up with white background instead of being transparent as usual, and that huge white bar hides half the video window. i attached a picture, in the top the video is normal when the progress bar is hidden, but when i hover the mouse to bring the progress bar this white monster bar comes up and hides half the screen. the exact same thing happens when the video is full screen too.

i tried removing all plug-ins and extensions, it still happened.

i cleared cache, history, cookies, it still happened.

i logged off completely, it still happened when i played a video without being logged in.

i started firefix in safe mode, still happened in safe mode.

chrome, opera, and edge work alright on youtube. only firefox following today's update. Any help? Thanks

I have tested without add-ons and the same issue persisted.

I have tested with another browser and it was working fine.

Thanks Have a great day

Hello support,

I am doing some challenges on a website called tryhackme.com . On a challenge the http web server is on port 22. When I try to access that page it tells me that the page is restricted. I access the about:config page and add as a string the following thing network.security.ports.banned.override and as a value 22. When I try to reload the page it tells me the same thing. How can I resolve this issue?

Kind Regards, Dan Barbu

Hello - I am running the latest Mint/FFx 71 and I am typing an address in the urlbar and it suggest a site or search with a drop down just below the urlbar. I have turned off search suggestions. Tried disabling all of the urlbar items in about:config and even created a userAcccount.css file in a chrome folder in my user profile. Nothing seems to work.

Is there a way to disable this?

Linux 7.8.2003. Just did yum update. Firefox was updated. My customization (menu bar on) was OK. Running it, my bookmarks appear as before, but clicking on one, nothing happens. Ditto Help menu, where I tried to see Firefox version number. Just now, I tried again, by accident holding mouse button down instead of clicking on Bookmarks or Help, move pointer to desired option, release button. This amazingly works. So I can tell you version of Firefox is 68.7.Oesr (64-bit). (I usually use NoScript, but disabled it for this test, same result.) I am sending this help request from a different machine, so did not click Share Data.

Hey everybody

I'm having troubles installing an addon. Now I just noticed, that Firefox is communicating an older version than itself, than it actually is. As you can see in the screenshot (hopefull, since I'm using it in German), the website https://addons.mozilla.org thinks that I'm on v68, while in reality, I just updated it to 76.

I did play around a bit with addons and settings for data privacy - and I'm pretty confident, that the problem is within a wrongly set configuration - but I can't for the life of me find and reverse it.

I would really appreciate any pointers you can give me!

Cheers, Robert

FF 69.0.1 I clicked the "star shaped icon" which you click to "save this URL to bookmarks." It turned blue as usual. I then clicked on it to invoke the dropdown menu allowing me to enter the words I wanted to use. The menu did not drop down. I used a "two finger click" (OSX) and an option to "remove from address bar" appeared. I thought this would clear the bookmark, but instead, the icon itself went away.

How the HELL do I get it back? WHY didn't the dropdown appear as usual?

We currently would like to upgrade our centrally installed Firefox ESR version and would like users to keep their settings and be disrupted minimally. Specifically we would like to upgrade from 68.4.2 to the current 68.8.

I am aware that as of Firefox 67 a dedicated profile version is used for each Firefox version (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/dedicated-profiles-firefox-installation).

I had assumed that as it is only a minor upgrade of the same ESR version a new profile would not be necessary, however it creates a new empty profile by default.

The suggested solution to use Firefox Sync is not an option as creating Firefox Sync accounts for all our users would even be more overhead.

Is it indended behaviour that new profiles are created for the same ESR (major) version? Is there a simple way to migrate existing profiles?

Thanks.

I have a problem that occurs on most websites that use icons. All icons show up as blank white boxes, including Google Maps and Wunderground Map. I've attached a screenshot of Wundermap below as an example. I assume its due to some sort of security setting, but I'm not sure which one.

My extensions are DarkReader, uBlock Origin, HTTPS everywhere, and Privacy Badger, but the problem persists even when I disable all of those extensions.

If I search by highlighting text and then right click + 'search google for...' the following link address in the next page always includes the text "client=ubuntu".

As i'm using ubuntu that might not seem strange, but it's strange to me because I use this addon which is supposed to spoof my browser and O/S and also in about config I have: privacy.resistFingerprinting and "privacy.trackingprotection.fingerprinting.enabled"' both set to "true".

Can anyone tell me how google is able to detect this info?

And seeing as the about:config settings dont seem to work... how i'm able to stop it?
