I log in to a portal with sso but the links on the portal open a database webpage. the problem is that the page is from a server with a different domain name. How do I get ff to include them as a same site to share the cookie. I'm getting tired of having to close the "you don't seem to have permission" windows. Thanks in advance.

When I go into Settings, the buttons/controls/fields are white/blank and unreadable. See attached screenshot; note the 4 white rectangles in the Language and Appearance section at the bottom, and the 3 white rectangles on the right side of the General section.

If I click on these they still function.

I've tried Troubleshooting Mode and the problem still occurs.

Changing Theme doesn't fix the problem.

Many sites use a media query to provide different CSS for printed output.

For debugging and comparison purposes, it would be useful to retrieve the CSS and HTML that are producing the preview output I see in Firefox's internal print dialog. (This is especially challenging for sites that use JavaScript extensively to serve content.)

How can I accomplish this? (I'm using 89.0.2 (64-Bit) on Linux.)

I've been using Firefox with Windows XP on my desktop computer and I've made a Linux DVD to try out Linux, also using Firefox. It's working great so far and I'd like to be able to get to my Firefox bookmarks while I'm booted up in Linux; it's on the same computer just booted up from the CD drive. I setting up a Firefox account to "sync" it but it's looking for me to sign into a different device. Thanks!

Trying to watch Netflix but the quality seems to be compromised with Firefox - details are often 'smeared' or fuzzy. This doesn't seem to happen with chrome.

I've checked that the GPU is operating (with radeontop - I'm on fedora-33) and the Netflix debug screen Ctrl-Alt-Shft-D shows the same "bit rate" 1280x720.

The only significant difference I can see in that debug screen is that firefox shows a "throughput" of 9780 kbps while chrome consistently shows over 11000 kbps. Could that be diagnostic? How would I fix that?

firefox-89.0-1.fc33.x86_64 google-chrome-stable-91.0.4472.106-1.x86_64

My laptop shows worse throughput at abut 7000 kbps but it has no GPU and it's on wireless so I would expect that.

How do I stop Firefox remembering my logon ID's? Have unchecked all the remember boxes I can find. I even searched for remember and found no more to remove. If I'm to lazy to enter my ID I shouldn't be there in the first place. A major part of security is keeping your identification to yourself or has that changed lately?

Reading down I came across the very surprising box to enter information.

(((Troubleshooting Information (optional):

We can't automatically get your browser's troubleshooting data, please try these manual steps. )))

I thought Firefox never got into my computer looking for things!

I may be doing the wrong thing trying to make Firefox work right. I might be better off looking for another browser that stays out of my business unless there is a good explanation for the statement.

I'm trying to listen to articles through the Reader View on Firefox Desktop. This feature works flawlessly in the pocket application on my Android phone, but it doesn't appear for me on desktop.

I found this article which says that "This option will show up only if Linux has Text-to-speech information".

Is there some guide I need to follow, that I didn't find while troubleshooting? Or is there some tool I need to install?

I shared my device info below. If there's any more information about my system that you might need, I can provide that.

Thanks in advance!

If during the download of OS Endless 3.9.5 there is no Internet access, and then provide it for this laptop, then the Firefox browser (89.0.2) reports that it cannot display the website (any). Google Chrome shows Internet resources. If during the Endless download there is Internet access (for example, a Wi-Fi hotspot), then Firefox normally displays Internet resources. All Mozilla support recommendations for the case when all other browsers on this computer display the Internet, but Firefox does not, have followed. Did not help. How to make Firefox after turning on the Internet again, as it were, read in Endless that the Internet is already there, or force it to connect to the module that distributes the Internet? In order not to overload the entire operating system to work with the Internet through Firefox.

Hi, I'm using Firefox 90 browser on Ubuntu 21.04. Somehow the UI font for my profile changed from the default and I can't find any way to reset it (see bad_ui_font.png) My tabs, menus and preferences all got set to some fixed-width font, and I can find anywhere in the preferences or about:config, or in my profile folder where I can change it back. If I create a new profile, then the UI font is fine (see good_ui_font.png). But as soon as I login to my firefox account and sync, then the new profile gets the bad UI font. I don't want to have to recreate my profile from scratch and lose all my settings just to correct the UI font. But this is very annoying. How can I restore the default UI font?

Thanks.

Under Ubuntu. If an application is set to be the default file handler for a certain type of file, Firefox will allow you to open such a download directly in the application. To do this, it saves the file in a temporary location, and then hands over to the application. The problem is that the location firefox uses under Linux is /tmp and modern snap and flatpak desktop apps are not allowed to see /tmp.

For instance, a .deb file is an installable software package. Ubuntu naturally uses the Software app to handle .deb files. But Software is a sandboxed snap app, and it won't open files in /tmp

The workaround of saving files and opening them from the app works, but it defeats the purpose of having registered file handlers.

And I do not know how to get firefox to save temporary download files somewhere else. I can't find any relevant configuration option.

I tried editing the firefox launcher:

env TMPDIR=/home/tim/tmp_firefox firefox

but it still uses /tmp

Hi, whenever I start Firefox up, one of the tabs randomly closes. This happens both with tabs from last session as well as newly opened bookmarks. Both on Windows 10 and Linux (MX Linux, Debian 9). Only one tab has to be "sacrificed" apparently, so I usually open the last bookmark twice.

What could be causing this? I attached what Extensions I'm currently using.

especially on startup, i get two 'windows' open. that is, instances. it happens because sometimes i click on firefox and nothing happens. if i decide too soon that it is not going to load, i click again and it then loads twice, and i get the nonsense about firefox already running. if this cannot be fixed, i would like to select allow only one instance to run as VLC offers.

I would like to be able to have two rows of tabs so things did not get so cluttered, but only if it is something like f8 to switch. since dos was squeezed out, nobody is using the f keys anyway.  :(

Hello, I found very different behaviour today between chrome, brave & firefox, firefoxdevedition with javascript and button.

As visible on the screenshots the button is created with its attributes GET and target profile.html via jinja2 templating.

But in addition, via javascript, I added a function to post the selected tables to a route called SaveToDatabase.

In chrome the js part gets executed and profile.html is loaded, but in firefox based browsers ONLY the js POST is executed and nothing else happens.

What could the problem here be?

Best regards and thank you in advance.
