Recent issue, April 2024. Had version 124 Firefox on Win10 computer and went to Help - > About to have Firefox check for updates. This has worked just fine up until now. The message "Failed to check for updates." is shown in the About screen. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox with the same results. Have also un-installed Firefox, un-installed Mozilla Maintenance, then removed Firefox data from App Data folder in user directory, then re-installed with the same results. Also, now when I access a local media server, I keep getting the message "Firefox is installing components needed" and that never goes away. Any ideas?

Pages reload while trying to read. This is a problem on news, blog, and most pages with a lot of text. Before headlines can be fully read, the page reloads and you're back at the top. This has been a problem since Netscape went away. There was a red stop button that froze the page. The page didn't reload until manually reloaded. The only solution I've found is to unplug Starlink, read the page and replug, refresh. Using FF since Netscape died. I have used Chrome and others, but this is a common annoyance. I suppose this constant reloading on some sites is a way to increase page view stats.

Windows 7, FF 108.0.2. I normally update FF when new updates appear.

I do have a new PC with windows 11, but it's such a mess, I'll probably have to load Linux to make it usable.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a problem with buttons in google docs, buttons works but pictures of buttons are dissipated. I asked about this questions to the community, but nobody could help me. I can't find if I can to get help from technical specialists of mozilla company? Is there only this community? This is really huge problem for me, because I work a lot with google docs and if I don't solve this problem then I'll have to go to another browser, but I don't want to :(

I was checking to make sure I was using the correct version of Firefox browser. I ended up on a page that stated "It looks like you haven’t started Firefox in a while. Do you want to clean it up for a fresh, like-new experience? And by the way, welcome back!" It went on to ask if I would like to Refresh Firefox, just like it was brand new.

In the Menu option on any Firefox page I can get on it states: "Account Disconnected". I have been using Firefox just about every day for 3 years. What is going on. I didn't dare click on the "Refresh Firefox" tab because I have no idea what will happen. Will I lose everything, bookmarks, settings, etc.?

Please help

Did the file Upload?

Hi folks,

Forced to update (expected) and 102 ran like two flat tires and no spare whil eI had no issues with 91. MANY hours of searching got me reasonably successful in acceptable performance. But two problems, one which could easily be a bug:

1. I can find no way including in about:config to enable lazy tab loading. In other words, open a group but not load each tab until it is clicked on.

Where did that go?

2. This one is more unique. I have a desktop install of ESR and a portable ESR install on a thumb drive. For MANY years I backed up bookmarks on my desktop and restored them to FF on my thumb drive. Now, after I shut down the portable (which takes a very long time) there are multiple bookmarks. Html files that seem to merge on shutdown. Problem is, on the thumb drive this is not completed before FF shutdown and the processes closed. Results in damaged bookmark files and a crash EVERY time.

IF I drag the copy of FF ESR portable to my desktop and perform the same procedure, no problems. So somehow on a USB 3 thumb drive the process of merging bookmarks. Html files is too slow and will cause a crash consistently.

Any suggestions or should I file a bug report?

Over the past few weeks I've been unable to watch live videos on Firefox on Ubuntu 22.04. I thought it was just an issue with Twitch but I realized the problem also persists on live videos on Youtube and did some troubleshooting which didn't solve the issue. The only solution I was able to find for Ubuntu said to install ffmpeg, which I already had, but I made sure it was upgraded, refreshed Firefox, and still have the issue. Currently I'm on Firefox 121.0 but I've had this issue since before I updated it. I dual boot Ubuntu and Windows and am not having this issue when I boot Windows on the same computer and Firefox profile.

I had a few issues with Hotmail and Firefox in the past as described in other posts. Now it has stepped up a gear. I can use the internet for anything, but the moment I open my Hotmail account in Firefox my Lan card stops working. At first I had no idea it was Hotmail, I tried everything from switching cables to using wifi only. When it happened on wifi I realised every time I went into Hotmail on Firefox my network card stopped functioning and I had to restart the computer. The thing is, when I use Hotmail through Microsoft Edge nothing happens and all is well with the world!!! No network card shutdown. I could read between the lines but I'm no conspiracy theorist, however, I don't think the problem is with Firefox. Is there any solution? I don't use Edge and I don't want to start.

What are the differences between Firefox ESR 91.12.0 and Firefox ESR 102.1.0 (available https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr)?

I've read all I could find on the ESR releases and even found this release calendar that indicates that there are two versions, but not why there are two ESR versions.

I've been having a weird issue with my text glitching only in my Firefox browser. Initially I thought it might be my monitor but then I realized the issue only presents itself in my Firefox browser. Literally no other program is affected.

I've done a reset, I've uninstalled and done a clean install, I've deleted all Firefox files and re-downloaded the browser. The issue immediately pops up again.

Lately, when I try to create a desktop shortcut from the Github website, it instead create a folder, with the correct title of the page, and what looks like a link inside, with an abbreviated website name, but is not a shortcut at all.

Example: Try dragging the address bar padlock from this page to your desktop

Welcome to Refined GitHub!

Same thing happens when I try to drag its bookmark to the desktop.

Creating the shortcut from Chrome works properly, so I assume this is a Firefox problem.

In case anyone's interested, under Debian 12, when I resume from hibernation, if I have Firefox running as well as Tbird, if I click on a link in an email, the existing instance of Firefox is ignored and a new instance is opened. The first instance is in fact frozen -- it looks as it should but trying to change tabs or open a new tab is inactive. Seems I have to kill the open instance of FF, then if I click on a link in an email, FF pops up as it should with a new tab for the link, but the existing tabs are all there and all functional. It feels like a bug -- Tbird seems not to know that FF is already running.

Hello, I'm using Firefox as my default browser for a while now (10+ years) and I'm getting frustrated with this issue when using Azure Devops. Comments don't load at all and most pages take a long time to load if they load at all. Various features also take a long time to load or don't work at all (examples include adding a reviewer, referencing a story with #, etc.). Anyone else experience this?

It works well for maybe an hour, and after a couple of days it makes no sense anymore.

Now I'm using firefox containers with a container only for Azure Devops and seems working better but ... Curious thing is that it pops up and asks for credentials periodically every 5 or 10 minutes. Well, unless the boxes are already filled up with the credentials.

Thanks,

I use multiple desktops on Windows 10; usually between two and four at a time. Each of those desktops has multiple Firefox windows open.

Whenever I restart my computer (which is not often but it happens) Firefox restores all the previously opened windows onto a single desktop, leaving me to sort out the mess. Firefox also re-opens windows/tabs recently stashed using the Tab Stash extension.

Is there anything I can do to make sure Firefox remembers which windows belongs on which desktop, and to keep stashed windows closed?

Good morning, after today's FF update, it is not possible to login to the ASUS router (https://router.asus.com/). Yesterday everything was working fine before the update.

1. Does not work in private mode 2. Clearing the cookies did nothing. 3. You can log into the router in Chrome. 4. I don't have plugins installed.

bold text My FF web pages are way too wide and I have to scroll all the time from side to side, to see the whole page, back and forth! Hate it! Not workable. Not only that, the menu texts (not the fonts on the page) are way too small, unless I reduce the whole page with the limited percentage size, and then none of it is readable to me. For a while 67% size helped but not even that works right and I am CONSTANTLY trying to adjust things so I can see them! It used to work great and now it is a CONSTANT BATTLE TO FUNCTION!
