In Firefox, on web pages which contain a mailto: link, clicking on that link automatically opens Thunderbird, with Write: and addressed To: the intended recipient; however, the From: is to my old email address and its related Thunderbird account. This default behavior needs to be fixed so that the From: is correctly filled in with my current email address and its associated Thunderbird account.

I've tried researching this issue from both possible sources; Firefox AND Thunderbird, but none of the knowledge base articles and forum postings related to either program have clearly addressed a solution. At this points it remains unknown which of these programs I need to focus on in order to correct the issue.

Thank you very much in advance for any assistance.

Kind regards,

Kelly

I enjoy this handy addon, but it's got a couple bugs

Default Bookmark Folder

It's a recommended addon, but It seems that it's no longer being supported. Version is two years old, and issues reported on github are not responded to.

I wonder if anyone could recommend another addon with the same features.

Hello,

Please see the attached picture. On my laptop screen (but not my second screen monitor) when opening just Firefox, there is a considerable white bar at the bottom of the browser that blocks website content. When I click on it, it brings me to another task I have open, such as Microsoft Word or my desktop.

Chrome and Edge does not have this problem, I checked. It is relegated to Firefox only.

How can I fix this?

Since Firefox moved to Snap updates, two things have happened almost every day: Snap pops up to say Firefox has an update pending, and it wants to be closed and restarted; and tabs crash, and the only way to make them stop crashing is to restart Firefox or restart the OS.

I suspect the two problems are linked, and I really have to ask: do we have to have an update every 36 hours? Microsoft mostly gets by with one update cycle per week. I like to use software, not update it. I know it has to get updated regularly, but regularly shouldn't be the same as constantly.

Environment is: Firefox 106.0.5 (64-bit) Mozilla Firefox Snap for Ubuntu canonical-002 - 1.0 Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (64-bit) GNOME version 42.5 Wayland windowing system

Hey, hope you guys are well.

I'm trying to read and note an article in Notion (in Firefox desktop browser).

I'd like to select all the text in a Notion page's text, and bold it, using Ctrl B. (For context, this is to clear all the existing bolding in the page.)

I find this command opens the Bookmarks sidebar.

How to turn off this hotkey in Firefox, while keeping it active for the bolding task in Notion?

Thanks!

How to remove duplicated entries in history only differenced by URI fragment

When navigating in some pages, specially in google docs, the browser's URI fragment (the part after the #) changes frequently for each page/header/slide, and all of them are stored in the history.

That behavior adds lots of entries in the history and also hinders the usage of the search functionality of the address bar (as all the duplicates are shown instead of shown only one and other pages). I want to keep one entry per document, at least in specific pages like gdocs where the "fragment" doesn't add any useful information and each document can have lots of them.

Is there any way to configure that behavior, to not save every fragment in the history?

To reproduce the above behavior (the same behavior happens in other pages, not only gdocs):

- Open any gdocs document with several headers, or a gdocs presentation with several pages. - Navigate all the document/presentation, and check the history. - Close the document/presentation tab/window. - In a new window/tab, use the address bar to search the document/presentation by the document name: several entries for the same document/presentation are shown (and if they are lots of them, no other different entries with same words are shown in the address bar). - Check also the history: several entries of the same document/presentation are shown (it could be hundreds for long documents, and thousands after seen few documents).

The West Virginia cultural service upgraded their website.

https://archive.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx

After the upgrade, I and many others cannot view the images in Firefox.

Some other browsers are not affected.

I have gone through the troubleshooting guide but still cannot view the images.

https://archive.wvculture.org/vrr/va_bcresults.aspx?LastName=Fisher&FirstName=&Gender=NA&County=Jackson&Year=All&PlusMinus=Exact&Search=Exact&NumRec=25

Any help is appreciated. Terry

A little background info: When they upgraded the site there was a great uproar because these images were shared on many, many genealogy sites. The links were killed and the web developers made a change that redirected the old links to the new. I don't know the technical aspect.

Hello

I've deleted my cookies and other data by mistake. I had a gmail account logged in(meaning when i open gmail, browser doesn't ask password etc.) now after i delete this data, i can't access to my gmail(forgot password and it wasn't connected to any kind of recovery yet. New gmail).

I somehow managed to get my previous firefox data using shadow explorer. when i follow 'Recovering important data from an old profile' guide, it doesn't work. Ex: my old cookies.sqlite file is 1.5MB. when i copy it to new profile i see it is copied. But whenever i open firefox i see cookies.sqlite new size is 96kb and i don't see any old data.

I tried almost everything on this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile I copied whole folders(both roaming and local). I copied only important files such as login.json or cookies.sqlite etc. Nothing works.

What am i missing here?

A couple days ago, late, I accidentally closed my main Firefox window before a little window that I'd forgotten was there - and all my 76 tabs disappeared. 1st thing yesterday I tried - 3bar / history / recently closed tabs - but the only thing in there was the one tab from the small window. Urg! I tried that and - 3bar / history / manage - where I could see my tabs but could only restore 1 at a time - not good for 76 tabs. I read a bunch of different questions about this same issue, and tried the suggestions, including some app called scrounge, but none of these restored my tabs. Help!!!!

Good Morning Mozilla Tech Support: Bookmark spacing NEEDS to be part of your Firefox User > Tools > Settings. When I go into 'Tools' > 'Settings' > 'Bookmarks' I NEED to be able to select and adjust Bookmark 'Spacing'. The current Firefox "mandatory default' double spacing in Bookmarks is grossly wasteful and very time consuming to navigate. Please fix this problem... User control of Bookmark Spacing seems logical and is a reasonable request. Thank-you for understanding and HOPEFULLY fixing this Mozilla oversight and serious User Control issue...

I have different options on my Tablet v My Laptop. The tablet shows "connected services", and lists a work computer I haven't had for two years.
