I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

THIS program needs WORK! I already added a whole paragraph describing my problem. Then per this pages clicked on the green button below. It took me to a page that said it couldn't find what I was looking for and when I clicked back, I lost ALL of what I had input before - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So here goes AGAIN:

I had been receiving error messages whenever I tried to load FF stating that it was already running. Jumped through all the hoops of how to fix that, including unchecking the read only in profile - BTW. After unchecking that box, clicking on apply now, and waiting for the program to stop doing whatever with the files. I clicked on OK and the properties closed. When I opened it up again - sure enough the read only box was filled in! - WTH - Then I installed the newest version (yesterday and everything worked). This AM when I went to open FF I got the same error message about it running and to close it. I am getting sick enough of this to start looking elsewhere. I have been a FF user for YEARS with NO problems. Until NOW.

I have more than one accounts on my computer. However, when opening Firefox from these users, it has the same history, login information, etc. from my main account. Is there any way to keep them separate?

my son used firefox before on my computer so now ive reloaded it for my use it wont let me grt rid of his stuff as i want to start a fresh but it keeps asking for his passwords & his email info...it was so longg ago he cant remember any of it & i just want it wiped off so i can start fresh myself thanks

I've been dealing with my old, dead PC and need to either:

Transfer all firefox app data to the new PC from the old PC drive, which is in an external caddy

Access the passwords from the drive and simply copy/load them onto the new PC for each of the three users.

I have tried this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data but there are no such files in the users folder.

Any help gratefully received.

Have a number of individual profiles set up in the profile manager, however they have all disappeared. How can I get them back without having to recreate each individual "person". There would be about 30 or more and it's extremely important I'm able to get them back. Please help!!

I refreshed and Firefox saved old Firefox data in a folder on the desktop. I have named my new Profile per instructions, and tried to follow directions to restore bookmarks & add ons (rebooted, tried to follow directions to open Profile folder, opened Menu, Help, Troubleshooting, but can't find Application Basics), but I am LOST! Any help much appreciated!

Cant even bring up pop up to see my multiple browser profiles using Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -P. How can i recover my browser profiles? They just dissappeared

I tried a Firefox update due to slow running; when it didn't work, I stopped it and deleted all FF files. On download (many attempts), all appears to go well until I get a "Your FF profile cannot be located. It may be missing or inaccessible." message.

My Firefox stopped opening. I tried entering the profile manager, but it says it is not available. Firefox is still shown in my installed programs. What's my next step?

Tried to refresh Firefox. After, I tried to open and it said, "Your Firefox profile can not be loaded. It may be missing or is inaccessible." After several tires, I moved Firefox to the trash and tried to reinstall. I got the same window again. Help, please. Thank you. I'm using a MAC v.10.12.6, if that helps.

Hello, I can't open my Firefox, it says:

Profile Missing - Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.

I already followed this manual: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-run-firefox-when-profile-missing-inaccessible I changed profiles.iniOLD, and the folder Firefox, but it doesn't work.

Also I tried to acces the User profiles by Mac's Terminal according to this manual: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles But when I typed the code /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -P it open's Firefox with the same error: Profile Missing - Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be misscing or inaccessible

Is there a solution to fix this? I also reinstalled Firefox, but same error.

maybe some more precisions:

- win7 x64, with FF x64

- the "crashed" profile has only been opened, not yet closed (I use hibernate so it wont be closed till I have an answer)

- I use multiple profiles at once, and the update occured while opening a new profile AND running 2 other profiles

- in "sessionstore-backups", I only have 2 files, "recovery.baklz4" and "recovery.jsonlz4", all with a "Date modified" AFTER the date of the upgrade

- the settings of the "crashed" profile are as follow: "restore old session -> checked", BUT, "Clear history when Firefox closes has ALL checkboxes checked".

This is the first time i encounter this bug since Quantum got out. With previous FF, there has ALWAYS been backup files. I tried an undelete software, but it found NO deleted files in this folder, so I guess the files have been overwritten ...

I had like 29 tabs opened, and before this update, the restore session thing was perfectly working. When the profile opened after the update, there was one page only, the one advertising about pocket (so ironic ^^).

What are my chances to recover my tabs ?

Bonus questions:

- gnnn, why the lz4 thing on session files ? What soft should i use to get a FULL text version ? 7zip wont take it as an archive.

- i'm on quantum right now but i'm fed up, it has been disappointments only. I'm using FF since v2 (15+ years), and it's like they killed my browser (apart from the perfs, i only LOST functionnalities). So, back to ESR very quickly, but is that a long-term solution (do not consider security, only websites compatibility) ?

- Can i install ESR and quantum in parallel ? Are the profiles retro-compatible/cross-compatible ? I have 29 profiles, but not all of them have seen Quantum yet, so maybe I'm lucky.

I recently changed my laptop. I took a backup of the entire profile folder. In my new laptop, I deleted the entire contents of the new profile folder and pasted the contents from the old profile folder. This process works for me every time. However, this time my bookmarks are getting lost. Everything else is in place. Is there a method to manually restore only the bookmarks from my profile folder backup? I never took a manual backup of only bookmarks. Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

during a firefox refresh the process failed and firefox no longer worked. I did an uninstall so I could do a fresh install. All attempts to install fresh fail saying "profile" could not be located. So now I have nothing. All my data is missing. I do have a copy of the profile folder, but after the uninstall was performed? contacts, bookmarks, passwords and such all missing ;-( Please help.

I was having problems with Firefox running slow so I tried to reset it, but it was taking too long so I quit in the middle of the reset. I tried uninstalling and installing it again but I keep getting "your profile is unavailable" and Firefox won't open

I have both Firefox and Dev edition on my notebook in a Windows 7 OS, and use the Firefox one as don't remembering history, while Dev edition remembers history. Both were updated to the latest version, 63.0b8 (64bit), few days ago, and were running smoothly until yesterday when while running it with 3 tabs suddenly the notebook stopped, and I couldn't do anything as couldn't even move mouse, so after few minutes I could open the Task Manager and find out that the 3 Firefox processes were consuming like 110% of CPU, so took like 10min for the processes to go down and finally I could see that Firefox was really consuming such CPU processing time, so I uninstalled both versions, and re-installed then again, and then seems problem was still happening with high CPU usage, so I tried to install the previous 63.0b7 version and always it was updated automatically to the 63.0b8 version, even that on Options I kept the manual update. As during the re-install of both versions I didn't see that it was using a different profile, then at the end, I lost the bookmarks I had in one profile, so now I can't run any previous version, as both Dev and normal edition always update automatically. Any chances to keep using older version and not this latest one ? thanks,

I've been having issues w/FF 61.0.2 losing everything new such as new bookmarks, ANY setting. Have posted Qs and followed various steps. Finally tried a complete reinstall. I uninstalled (from Windows 7 Pro 64b), rebooted, downloaded & used the installer, w/gave me 62.0.2 which is only 3 days old. Only hiccup was an error stating 'MS Register Server has stopped working' and I chose 'close the program'.

I specifically unchecked the box upon install to NOT use any old settings when it prompted me 'FF has been installed before' yet a fresh install now gives me my old profiles prompt. I do not want ANY old settings. I need a COMPLETELY new pristine FF install.

Please help me get back to using FF where I can save bookmarks, install uBlock, make cookie exceptions, only default profile, etc.
