as similar as there is a "new window" icon in the overflow menu, it would be nice a "new tab" icon

Firefox dictonaries wont work

Hi there, I have a problem at work with the dictionaries. At home I can use the installed dictionary without any problem. At work we also have Firefox 59.0.2 (64bit), and I can see the dictionary installed. But when I choose the language I only see red lines under my text (and I know for sure some words are correct). If I pick the standard language of Firefox (English - United states), it works. But if I install a different dictionary like English - British it won't work. I also tried Dutch and some other languages. But only the standard one works.
I have tried an older computer that has an older version of Firefox, and it works perfect. Until I update Firefox to the latest version. then it won't work anymore. So I thought it had to do with the Firefox version. But at home it works perfect with the same new Firefox update.
Anyone an idea? Or is it maybe the 64 bit that does not work? Can someone test this for me?

My bookmarks have vanished. This problem began when I had iTunes and Firefox open. My iTunes songs were "skipping," which had never happened before. I closed Firefox and iTunes, and I ran my Piriform CCleaner program to clear out temporary files, which I do regularly.
I ended up updating iTunes to make it work, but not before my bookmarks disappeared with the message on my browser: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem."
Worse, Firefox won't allow me to add new bookmarks.
I followed all topics in support and nothing has changed this problem. I've restarted and shut down the computer. I ran a full-system security scan. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

Wednesday of this week one grandson was using my computer for "homework". Later, I saw two porn sites that he insisted he did not link to. I received a subscription confirmation this morning and blocked it. Now, I would like to unblock it so that I can discover if this grandson filled in his personal information, proof positive that he lied to me. By the way, he is 13. TRUTH is not a part of his vocabulary and hasn't been since I first came to know him after my daughter adopted him. My biggest issue is that he lied (if he did). I understand teen boys' fascination with sex and the female body, but he will have to find his visual sources elsewhere.

After years of using Firefox suddenly I can no longer save pictures from internet sites. When I try to save one I get an error message as shown in Extension 1. What the heck is this and what's going on? I like whatever was added that allows me to capture and save video clips. But what is this software that is interfering with the simple matter of saving photographs, usually jpg/jpeg files and the like? I don't understand half the questions asked. Moreover if I try to do something I then get a page (Extension 2 GitHub that seems to charge me for doing what Windows 7 and other iterations of Windows has long done free. What is GitHub? As far as I am concerned, my answer to GitHub is Git Lost!

Coincident with numerous Windows 10 updates and subsequent Firefox updates I see a tooltip hint of Firefox(5) on the taskbar icon i have. I see that as i mouse over the icon before clicking. As far as I know this is the fifth iteration of the icon reflecting the number of Firefox updates that have occurred since some unknown point in time approximately 4-6 months ago. I am not sure where that iteration or instance number is being stored perhaps buried in the registry some where. it is not found in Windows File Explorer. This is more an observation than a complaint or inconvenience. it just seems superfluous. any comments?

I have been a user of Netscape and later Firefox since the 1990s.
I was absolutely mortified the other day when I received a Firefox update, only to find that an extension named "pocket" was installed without my acknowledgement or permission, and it was presenting me with content based on my prior browsing patterns. Horribly invasive. I was even further mortified to find that it have been INTEGRATED into the application with configuration parameters in the about:config section! A BAD move and one FF should reverse itself on. A BAD idea in the first place, and even MORE BAD in light of the recent Facebook privacy scandal. Firefox has made some pretty bad stumbles in recent years, but this one take the cake.
I have been a loyal user over the years, but may soon have to become a "formerly" loyal user. Please pull out the "pocket" integration from the product.
Will Firefox release a product in the future that is NOT integrated with pocket?

I have an odd problem I can't solve so this is my first post because I have no idea!!
I'm running Windows 10 with all updates etc, and Firefox 59.0.2 64 bit which as of writing is also up to date. Over the last couple of weeks, and it's random when it happens and only on reboot or starting the computer, I get a Firefox window which is version 3.6.3.
Sometimes, these pages are innocuous explaining it's Gort the robot killer. At other times it loads a porn site. I never look at porn and my wife and I had a severe argument when it first occurred.
I've used various virus scanners including Comodo, Avast, Bitdefender, Windows Defender, and Malwarebytes and I get absolutely no errors or PUPs.
I've followed all the advice I can find on the internet including virus and malware scans, clearing cookies and private information, reinstalling Firefox, and rerunning everything. I just can't seem to get rid of this problem and it's highly embarassing. I think Firefox is awesome but unless I can't solve this it looks like I have to uninstall it.
I have installed the following extensions:
1-Click YouTube Video Downloader DecentralEyes Free Download Manager extension Notebook web clipper uBlock Origin Windscribe VPN Zoho Vault
The issue does not occur with MS Edge, Chrome, or IE.
Any suggestions other than that stated to try so I can eliminate this issue?

When I open a site, I receive a "SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN" error. This is because the site recently changed their domain.
However, there is no option to add an exception after clicking "Advanced" and go to the site. Edge browser allows me to still visit the page, but doesn't recommend it. And Firefox just blocks the site.
There should always be an option for a user to visit any site regardless of security errors.

I am using the latest Firefox on a Windows 7 32 bit machine.
Unfortunately Firefox has been running very unstable for the last couple of weeks. Below I describe some of the problems:-
-Hanging momentarily ie. cannot click on links - Getting black patches on pages - Pages suddenly started to flash quickly
Things I have done to alleviate the problem
- Have refreshed and reset to default settings. - Have disable hardware acceleration in options - Have uninstalled graphics card driver (ATI), removed card completely and been running with embedded Intel graphics.
Unfortunately none of the above have solved the problem. Please also note I have a couple of addons installed but been running the same configuration on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine and everything works ok.
Willing to send crash reports, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help.
