I am running Firefox 52.9.0 (32-bit), Win XP PRO SP3 on several computers and only my desktop has this problem.

Youtube videos embedded in other pages do not work and only blank space is displayed but if I go to Youtube the videos play correctly. This only happens in one computer. In other computers running same Firefox 52.9.0 (32-bit), Win XP PRO SP3 this problem does not happen.

I guess it might be some configuration problem.

For years I have been using Firefox to log into Microsoft office for emails with no problems. Beginning yesterday, Firefox logs in OK, but when it tries to open my mailbox it gets stuck in some sort of loop. The top left corner message says "working", the bottom left corner message alternates rapidly between "sending ..." and 'waiting ..." This goes on forever: sending ... waiting ... sending ... waiting ,,, Years ago I configured Thunderbird to also log into my mailbox, and this continues to work OK. Access to all other sites that I visit seems to be OK, so I assume that Office changed something that Firefox is unhappy about. I use Windows XP SP3, Updating to a new operating system (say Windows 7) is not an option at the moment, I have too much important legacy software to abandon XP. I will be grateful for any suggestions as to what to do. Thank you.

My hardware won't support a newer OS than Windows 10. It is so bloated it would slow my system to a crawl. I can't even install the newest versions of Linux. And I HATE Linux. I'd LIKE to run WIndows 7, but Microsoft yanked all the LEGAL copies from the market before I could get a copy I won't buy a download and key from some shady website, only to find out the key doesn't work, or has been sold to 100 different people. Besides, the cheap hardware builder versions are NOT legal for end users.

I can't afford a new machine. Nor do I want one. My XP machine runs fine. Imagine if Ford suddenly took your steering wheel away from you and told you you can't drive the car anymore. People would have a fit. They depend on their cars. We depend on our computers too. I fail to see why Mozilla can't maintain updates for Firefox under XP. How many people are going to be writing "exploits" for XP, if it is the obsolete system you always say it is? Mozilla is just bowing to pressure from Microsoft.

Firefox 45 and below doesnt do this, but 46 and up to including ver. 52 has these 3 pink boxes with 3numbers in each box that change with movement of the mouse around the page or browser window. It happens even in safe mode. The pink boxes appear also in any drop down menu or balloon tip etc. I am using XP SP3 32 bit. I would like to get rid of these artifacts because they are blocking my view etc of menu items etc.

I use 2 PC: on both of them I use firefox and I use sync to keep updated info between them. On the first PC, everything works fine. On the second one, when I open Firefox it is never sync and I always need to put my password again (and often to confirm the access by e-mail).

I set on this PC to keep my password saved, to keep Sync connected... but it doesn't. I searched online, I found some topic about, I tried with solutions that worked for other users, but nothing... on the second PC sync doesn't stay connected.

In this PC, I run Firefox 52.9.0 (64 bit), update channel esr (I had problem with "normal" update channel before).

thank you very much

This issue has been happening for years, through several upgrades. Finally tired and frustrated enough to write about it now.

I'll close down Firefox, and when I re-open it, it gives me a window and tab scheme from hours (or days, or weeks) ago, not the most recent one that was just shut down. In other words, I'll have shut down certain tabs hours (or days) before, but they reappear when I restart Firefox, and the ones that actually were open, are nowhere to be found. It's like Firefox takes a snapshot whenever it feels like it, but not when I am shutting it down.

What I've had to do to get Firefox to open up from the last section *exactly* how I left it last is go into Windows 7 Process Manager and shut down Firefox from there. Then, when I restart Firefox, it gives me the "Oops, shut down last time didn't go so well..." apology, but at least when I click through, it opens up my desktop exactly how I left it previously.

It seems pretty stupid that I have to do this, so I am hoping someone can enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong.

- I'm running Firefox ESR 52.9.0 (64-bit) in Kali Linux. - I have an IKEv2/IPsec VPN tunnel set up to a foreign VPN server with non-local-ISP DNS servers also hard coded in the resolv.conf file. - My local ISP is exercising internet censorship.

When trying to access a website that my local ISP is blocking with a browser other than Firefox, I can reach it fine. When trying via Firefox I get redirected to a page from my local ISP saying "this website is blocked blabla".

So Firefox is somehow leaking data outside of my VPN tunnel. As Firefox is my preferred browser I want to avoid having to ditch it.

Is there a setting in for instance about:config that needs adjusting?

I have been searching all over the web, but have been unsuccessful in finding the solution to this problem.

All suggestions are welcome - if more details are needed, just ask.

Thanks in advance!
