I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

All of a sudden when I click on a link all sorts of spam windows open up. I have "Pop-Up" windows set to off....but they still open...also all of a sudden pages on line will have tons of words highlighted as hough they are links.... and when I click on them thinking it is a link it is another annoying pop up window. I have checked my "plug ins" and "add ons" and there is nothing there that I can find. I am using Windows 7 and this problem just began this week. I ran a McAfee scan and found no virus......can you help???

This occurred to me that morning, without any change of the settings or so... knowing that everything was alright until then. I searched for solutions elsewhere, but nothing seems to work!!! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you previously for all attempts to help me find a solution for my problem.

On starting Firefox (Windows 7), even from a cold boot I get a dialogue box with the message 'The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer and then restart Firefox to try again' I have checked task manager and there are no other copies. I have downloaded the latest version 29 Firefox but the error persists. I have reset Firefox to default state but the error still persists.

Help please!

Now I have to: 1) click again on the stupid blue star to get the menu to place my new bookmark where I choose to instead of have it go to unsorted bookmarks... OR 2) bring up or have up the menu bar and click on the "bookmarks" menu choice of "bookmark this page" which brings up what I'd call the choice or sort menu that lets me access my bookmarks menu...

...where I wanted to go to create a bookmark AND I get to select "choose", which is what I used to do when adding ANY bookmark.

I want the "bookmark this page" selection back on the "show your bookmarks" list on the right...where it belongs. Why does everyone want to keep hiding the useful tools?

Firefox 29 stinks and I've had nothing but problems from the beginning...and since making the mistake of resetting. I now have a folder of stuff that I have no clue what to do with as, upon resetting, I got "Oooops this is embarrassing, we're having a problem" or something. Any clues about what to do with all that "junk" (now, to me) might also be helpful.

G'day, Yesterday I updated Firefox to which ever is the most current version (29) I have always had adblocker on my Firefox and it normally works and yesterday it was working fine pior to the update. However it doesn't appear to be working at all as I am getting ads on YouTube video's, one of the things adblocker is meant to remove as well as standard annoying adverts on many of the webpages I have visited, and visit regularly, which previously adblocker had dealt with and removed.

The first thing I did, as Ive heard that folk can get adverts from malware, I ran a security check of my system and it was all clear, no issues what so ever, so what I am wondering is if adblocker itself is needing updating or if there is something I am required to do ect.

I'm using Firefox 29 on Win7x64. It's my default browser. Sometimes, when I try to open a web link from Outlook email or Yahoo email, the link does not open. Instead, Firefox opens a process every time that I click, but does not open the link or even a page. If I try to open another Firefox instance by clicking the shortcut, yet another process starts, but a page does not open. Safe mode does not help. The only resolution thus far is to close every process or reboot, and then re-install Firefox. This issue began in v29 or the one just before. I also have tried suggestions posted to the forum. After trying out the "pin tabs" option, the icon associated with that web site disappeared. I unpinned both sites, yet (even after reloading the tabs) I cannot get the icons to show on the tab.

I have had this happen before, even without pinning tabs: certain icons no longer show up on my tabs. It is becoming very difficult to locate the tabs I want now. I ended up having to remove FF completely, then reinstall it - NOTHING else worked. This is not an acceptable option.

Please help me before I decide to abandon Mozilla products forever!

I clicked a skype link and it said what program do you want to use to open it, i browsed to skype shortcut then checked 'always open this when this link's clicked', but it didn't work and now i can't find a place in options that let's me choose another program to open it.

I used to make a backup or saved copy of my favorites with internet explorer on my XP computer and the result was an easily opened list of all my links in order. Recently I installed firefox and I now tried to do the same thing. I did a backup to my bookmarks and could not open the file initially. After some searching I was able to open the file with several programs but all of the results were useless. I kept getting a document with tons of data from the extreme left to right side of the screen in no format or in a usable list. So how can I get the backup or a saved copy in microsoft windows works (not word) processor like all my other windows XP documents are in?

I was in private browsing and firefox crashed. If someone else used my computer right after the crash, would firefox "restore session" restore the websites visited while in private browsing?

Starting about a week ago, seemingly at random tabs will open on their own. They always try connecting to the URL mentioned in the title. Now, this obviously won't resolve because that isn't a valid URL. This only seems to happen when firefox is already open, and isn't affected by running firefox in safe mode. I've ran some scans and haven't found anything, I've been through my startup processes and nothing is amiss there either. I feel I should also mention that this is only happening in firefox, I've left Internet Explorer open for a few hours to see if anything would happen and nothing did. Funnily enough it's just happened in the time it's taken me to type all of this out. That's about all I can think to add. I hope someone can get to the bottom of this.

I downloaded the yahoo toolbar because that was the only way to keep them. Did that got the red flag pressed it and got a pop up sign in -pressed sigh in and keep getting the same pop up. I can't get any help for yahoo or Firefox about this, it is like they don't want to hear from us. I need my bookmarks and they are out there just can't get to them. please help ydelle

With the change in recent email format, my ability to printout the email has disappeared. No problems before this rcent change. The 2 options available: the "File" option on the menu at top left of page, and the 3 horizontal bars indicating "menu" on the top right of page -- BOTH print out the whole page with the email itself truncated.

Another irritating issue is my inability to find the email address of the sender. This has got to be easy to find, BUT I CAN'T find it!!

after updating recently to the latest version of firefox my dock is vanishing when I open the browser. I have to click on the bare desktop and the dock reappears. it does not happen with any other application. I checked my dock preferences and nothing there makes any difference if changed.

Several websites (examples : Yahoo Sports, Guildportal) do not correctly display icons on my firefox. The icons correctly display if I switch to IE.

just updated to the latest version( 29.0.1). i tried to download a video form a site that im using daily and doesn't download or see the status of download. I do not have a download icon or bar anymore( basically its dead-nothing happens)

When I click on any dropdown lists for options on any website, the list disappears before I can click on any option. I find by clearing the cache and cookies each time, it will work just once before it needs clearing again. So it has to be cleared for every single click on an option.

Once again, a FF update just drives me crazy and wastes my time.

So, I update to FF 29.1 (When will I ever learn?)

My preferred theme--no longer compatible. Forecast Fox--no longer compatible.

I see no "refresh" or reload button any more. Where did it go? How do I get it back? I also see no "STOP" button. How do I get that back?

I once went to the trouble of putting tabs on bottom (below the toolbars...not the bottom of the page) But the new "upgrade" wipes that out. Thanks! Nothing like constantly having to redo the same things. How do I do that in the new version?

I want my status bar back, too. I like putting certain things at the bottom--particularly Fox CLocks and Forecast Fox (oops!). Where did it go? Things that used to be there are now up near the search/url box, taking up space I do not want consumed there.

I saw a note on opening up extensions and selecting Classic Theme---but it's not there to select. So, I'm reading an instruction on selecting Classic Theme but there is no classic theme to modify. So, I have to download something to get back to where I was?

Perhaps we can simplify this. If it takes this much effort to make the new version look like the old version, maybe I should just have the old version. How do I revert back to the last version and get rid of this new design with the least amount of fuss and effort?

About a month ago thisstarted. It was the occasional slow loading of a page, which I just put down to a bad internet connection (University Wifi is shockingly terrible at the moment). Gradually over the past month it has got a lot worse, to the point where every page I load, freezes/lags for about 2 seconds once opened (Even at home, where I have a really good internet connection and have never had a problem with it).

YouTube is the worst, Every video I load freezes at 4 seconds for about 3/4 seconds. I did realise that it was adblocker causing YouTube to freeze, so I disabled it on the page, however this has just made it a lot worse. Before, youtube in general would load quite fast, but now I sit there for a good minute waiting for it to load properly and I don't think the ads are helping (hence why I got adblocker in the first place).

I can't figure out wat is casuing this; I have tried everything to fix it: Safe Mode, a complete fresh install, I have even gone throug a virus check on my laptop and nothing seems to be wrong. Nothing needs updating on my laptop, all the drivers are up to date, I have plenty of RAM left and troubleshooting comes back perfectly fine. I'm so lost! Chrome seems perfectly fine, no lagging or freezing. But, as I really hate Chrome (Sorry Google), I want to fix Firefox. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? I currently have autoscrolling and smooth scrolling off, but this hasn't made a difference.
